According to one news source, Wilder is coming in very handy with the lively sparring that he’s giving Wladimir in helping him get ready for his November 10th title defense against the 6’7 1/2″ Mariusz Wach.

Wladimir’s cornerman Johnathon Banks has been especially impressed with what he’s seen of the giant knockout artist Wilder, saying on his twitter “Bronze Bomber [Deontay Wilder] is in Austria proving why he’s a top world class heavyweight and a future world champion.”

Steward is out for now after having had stomach surgery recently, and he won’t be available to work Wladimir’s corner just yet.

Wladimir’s manager Bernd Boente told AFP “Wladimir is very impressed by Johnathon. He says ‘Banks can read a fight and know what tactics should be applied. He’ll be a very good coach one day.”

This isn’t the first time that the IBF has done this, as they did in 2008 with Chris Byrd, Alexander Povetkin, Calvin Brock and Eddie Chambers. Povtkin ended up winning the tournament and yet never took the opportunity to fight Klitschko.
