The Best British fights we never saw

calzaghe445574By Gav Duthie: After another top performance by Kell Brook questions were regarding who he fights next. Amir Khan is out for the time being as he faces Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and there is a good chance we will never see this fight. Here are some of the other British contests we missed out on over the years.

Ricky Hatton v Junior Witter

Calzaghe thinks Groves will beat Badou Jack, then face DeGale in unification match

groves#1By Scott Gilfoid: Joe Calzaghe thinks that #1 WBC George Groves (21-2, 16 KOs) will be victorious in his upcoming title challenge against WBC super middleweight champion Badou Jack (19-1-1, 12 KOs). The date still isn’t official, but WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman was talking today about the Jack-Groves fight taking place on August 22nd in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Calzaghe wants to see Groves win the WBC 168lb title off of Jack, and then face IBF super middleweight champion James DeGale in a rematch/unification fight next year. It sounds like a nice pipe dream for Calzaghe, but there are a lot of pieces that need to come together for this fantasy fight to actually take place.
