Kell Brook v Frankie Gavin – Prediction – Brook to win on Points

YouTube video

By Ryan Allan: The main event of the night sees IBF champ Kell “Special K” Brook make the 2nd defence of his title against the former world amateur champion and fellow Brit, Frankie Gavin.

What a year it has been for Brook who having won the title in America with a fine win over Shawn Porter found himself fighting for his life just 2 weeks later following a horrific stabbing in Tenerife as the new champ indulged in some well deserved celebrations on the holiday island.

By Scott Gilfoid: IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (34-0, 23 KOs) made weight on Friday for his title defense against an outgunned #4 IBF Frankie Gavin (22-1, 13 KOs) for their fight on Saturday at the O2 Arena in London, UK. Gavin: Brook definitely has weaknesses I can exploit

gavin434By Scott Gilfoid: Frankie Gavin (22-1, 13 KOs) says he sees weakness in the game of IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (34-0, 23 KOs) that he thinks he can exploit this Saturday night in their fight at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

Gavin says Brook leans forward too much and he feels he can nail him with shots. Gavin may be right about that because Brook has never been hard to hit in any of his fights. He had to resort to holding Shawn Porter all night long in order to slow down his offense.

Kell Brook says Frankie Gavin has no chance of beating him

brook65By Scott Gilfoid: Challenger Frankie Gavin (22-1, 13 KOs) has no chance of pulling off the upset this Saturday, says IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (24-0, 23 KOs), who will be facing the 29-year-old “Funtime” Gavin at the O2 Arena in London, England.

Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn was the one who thought it would be a good idea for Brook to fight Gavin, and instead of resisting the idea, Brook thought it was a great idea and readily agreed to the fight. Of course, this isn’t the fight that fans want to see.

Kell Brook vs. Frankie Gavin this Saturday in London, UK

brook9By Scott Gilfoid: This Saturday night on May 30th, IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (34-0, 23 KOs) will be fighting what amounts to be little more than a stay busy fight for him in his title defense against #5 IBF Frankie Gavin (22-1, 13 KOs) at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

Gavin, 29, is technically a highly ranked contender at #4 by the International Boxing Federation, but he’s really been given a very generous ranking by the IBF. It’s a ranking that makes little sense when you factor in that Gavin was recently beaten by Leonard Bundu and arguably beaten by Bradley Skeete.

Gavin: I expect to beat Brook

gavin40By Scott Gilfoid: It’s pretty much a given that #5 IBF Frankie Gavin (22-1, 13 KOs) has been selected as IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook’s next opponent on May 30th mainly because he fights in the same Matchroom Sport stable and that he isn’t considered a dangerous threat to beat Brook like someone like Keith Thurman would be.

That’s why it’s surprising to learn that the 29-year-old Gavin actually thinks he’s going to beat Brook when the two of them face each other at the O2 Arena in London, UK.
