Kellerman wants Mayweather to fight Golovkin

golovkin994By Allan Fox: HBO analyst Max Kellerman says he’d like to see superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26 KOs) take a chance and fight WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) before he retires from the sport. Kellerman doesn’t like the idea of Mayweather fighting former IBF/WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto on Showtime pay-per-view.

Kellerman thinks that will be a tough ask to try and get boxing fans to purchase a potential mismatch like that after the fiasco that took place last May with Mayweather’s win over Manny Pacquiao. That fight turned out to be a dull affair with Mayweather beating a passive looking Pacquiao.

Mosley wants rematches against Canelo, Cotto, De La Hoya, Mayweather & Pacquiao

mosley2312By Dan Ambrose: 43-year-old former three division world champion Shane Mosley (47-9-1, 39 KOs) has won only one fight in the past five years dating back to 2010, yet he wants rematches against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Manny Pacquiao and Winky Wright.

In other words, Wright wants rematches against guys he either was beaten by or had close victories. Interestingly enough, Mosley doesn’t see himself as a shot fighter despite the fact that he’s lost 4 out of his last 6 fights.

Floyd Mayweather Jr: The Best Matchmaker Ever

Floyd Mayweather JrBy Shaun La: The Best Ever banner may be a form of self-respect and motivation for Floyd Mayweather Jr. and there are certain hard-core boxing fans who differ with his banner, and there are some who agree with it.

Nobody can deny Floyd’s ring intelligence, speed, defensive protocol and dedication to his training for professional boxing matches. However, what Floyd may be, hands down is the The Best Matchmaker Ever. What goes into Floyd being The Best Matchmaker Ever does not fit into whom we think that he should or should not box, but it does fit into his ability to have a huge say so on whom he wishes to box.

90% chance Mayweather’s next fight on Showtime PPV, not CBS, says official

Floyd Mayweather vs Manny PacquiaoBy Dan Ambrose: Floyd Mayweather Jr’s next fight on September 12th could be on Showtime pay-per-view rather than on CBS, according to Lance Pugmire. He’s saying that an official that’s privy to the information says that there is a high possibility that Mayweather’s next fight will be on PPV.

Why that’s important potentially is because CBS is free television, and if Mayweather is going to fight someone like Andre Berto, it’s going to be a tough sell to try and convince boxing fans to purchase a fight between them.

Khan not getting Mayweather fight due to his “yapping,” says Pugmire

khanBy Scott Gilfoid: Well, it looks like Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) has been passed over by Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26 KOs) once again for a big money fight. According to Lance Pugmire’s source, Khan won’t be getting the fight against Mayweather Jr. due to Khan’s constant “yapping” about him. I had a feeling it was going to go this way for Khan.

If he’d just kept his trap shut, and waiting patiently for the Mayweather fight then maybe he’d be the guy that is getting the fight against him on September 12th, but Khan couldn’t stop flapping his gums 24/7 about Mayweather and now he’s not getting that cash out payday fight.

Ariza: Mayweather is waiting to kick Berto’s behind

arizaBy Chris Williams: Floyd Mayweather Jr’s strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza says that Mayweather is training hard for his potential fight against former IBF/WBC welterweight Andre Berto (30-3, 23 KOs) on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ariza says that Mayweather can’t wait to whip Berto’s backside when he gets him inside the ring.

Mayweather is taking his training as serious as he always does even though he’s facing a lesser opponent than what he’s become accustomed to. Berto may in fact turn out to be a tougher opponent than Mayweather’s last opponent Manny Pacquiao, who looked like he gave up after the 1st round after tasting Mayweather’s right hand.

Mayweather should fight Golovkin, says Hagler

golovkin445By Dan Ambrose: Former IBF/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Marvin Hagler thinks Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26 KOs) should face WBA 160lb champion Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) next. Hagler sees Golovkin as an interesting opponent for Mayweather to fight. Mayweather is said to be fighting former IBF/WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (30-3, 23 KOs) on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Boxing fans as a whole have no interest in seeing Mayweather fight Berto, even if the fight is on free television. They want to see Mayweather fight #1. Golovkin 2. Amir Khan. 3. Keith Thurman 4. Shawn Porter.

Mayweather should fight Golovkin at 154, says Mancini

golovkin444By Allan Fox: Former world champion Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini thinks that WBA/WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26 KOs) should come down to 154 to face WBA middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) at a catch-weight in order to gain his respect and to give the fans a great fight.

Mancini has zero respect for Mayweather fighting Andre Berto (30-3, 23 KOs) in his next fight on September 12th, if that’s who Mayweather winds up facing next. Mancini sees that fight as a waste of time for Mayweather because it’s such a mismatch.

Golovkin doesn’t think he’s too big to fight Mayweather

golovkin667By Dan Ambrose:
WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golokvin (33-0, 30 KOs) says he’s a small middleweight, and is more than capable of fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr. by coming down to 154 to make the fight happen. Golovkin was amused recently to learn that Mayweather thinks he would beat him without any problems. Golovkin would like to get a chance to fight Mayweather to test whether he is too good or not.

“He’s [Mayweather] a great champion,” Golovkin said to ESPN’s SportnNation. “Look at me, I’m not big. My last couple of fights I’m 158, 159. This is possible for me. I’m going to 154 just for Floyd. I understand this is the biggest fight in the world.”
