What could Chambers have done to beat Wladimir?

Image: What could Chambers have done to beat Wladimir?By Chris Williams: It’s hard not to look at the performance that American heavyweight challenger Eddie Chambers (35-2, 18 KO’s) put in against IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KO’s) on Saturday night without seeing things that Chambers could have done to make himself more competitive against Wladimir. I’m not sure if Chambers could have won the fight no matter what he did, but he at least might have had a better chance at being competitive had he made some small adjustments during the fight.

Would Haye do any better than Chambers did against Wladimir?

Image: Would Haye do any better than Chambers did against Wladimir?By Scott Gilfoid: In watching last night’s fight between IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 38 KO’s) and Eddie Chambers (35-2, 18 KO’s), I can easily see how WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (23-1, 21 KO’s) would look as equally bad as Chambers did in losing to Wladimir. You can’t even call the Chambers-Klitschko fight a bout. It resembled a schoolyard beating where a huge kid toyed with a smaller kid, beating him up in front of a huge crowd of people. Chambers had no chance, really, and just stood on the outside with his hands in front of his face absorbing shots.

Klitschko destroys Chambers, wants Haye next – News

Image: Klitschko destroys Chambers, wants Haye next – NewsBy Scott Gilfoid: International Boxing Federation/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KO’s) dominated Eddie Chambers (35-2, 18 KO’s) on Saturday night, stopping him with only five seconds to go in the 12th round to get the win at the ESPRIT arena, in Düsseldorf, Germany. Chambers, 27, never had a chance and received a one-sided beating for 12 rounds that was strangely reminiscent of Klitschko’s first win over Chris Byrd 10 years ago in 2000.

Klitschko scores 12th round KO against Chambers, but fails to impress

Image: Klitschko scores 12th round KO against Chambers, but fails to impressBy Dave Lahr: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KO’s) one of the most timid looking fights I can remember seeing for 11 boring round until finally getting his act together and scoring a 12th round knockout win over American Eddie Chambers (35-2, 18 KO’s) with only five seconds to go until the end of the fight. But it took the urging of his trainer Emanuel Steward for the 33-year-old Klitschko to man up and go for the knockout. With Steward all over his backside, Klitschko came out for the 12th round on fire, throwing right hands with abandon and driving Chambers all around the ring.

Klitschko-Chambers prediction: Wladimir by 8th round stoppage

Image: Klitschko-Chambers prediction: Wladimir by 8th round stoppageBy Dennis Broadhurst: Eddie Chambers (35-1 18kos) is 6ft 1 inch and only 209lbs in weight. In the old days you had fighters who were well under 200lbs fighting at heavyweight and becoming champions because there was no cruiserweight division but looking at Eddie Chambers, and his soft waistline, I ask myself “Why not put in the work to be a great cruiserweight?” Chambers has had some success at heavyweight but has already been defeated (Povetkin), he has above average hand speed, decent power and a decent chin.

Klitschko-Chambers: Wladimir badly needs an impressive knockout win

Image: Klitschko-Chambers: Wladimir badly needs an impressive knockout winBy Chris Williams: I see this fight as a one-sided bout with IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KO’s) dominating with his jab. American Eddie Chambers (35-1, 18 KO’s) is coming into this fight the much smaller fighter compared to the 6’6” Klitschko, and doesn’t have the power to make Wladimir respect him. Without power to keep Wladimir from holding back on his power shots, Chambers will be a sitting duck in the early going of the fight. Chambers will not want to trade after getting hit with some of Wladimir]s big shots in the first few rounds.

Prediction: Chambers by 5th round knockout over Klitschko

Image: Prediction: Chambers by 5th round knockout over KlitschkoBy Dave Lahr: If Wladimir Klitschko had a chin, he’d something special. He just doesn’t have the chin to be a great one I hate to say. Eddie Chambers is stepping into tonight’s fight with Klitschko as a huge underdog. Few people think that the small 6’1” 209 pound Chambers will win.

I’ve seen both fighters compete on a number of different occasions and know what they’re both capable of doing in the right, and I see the quickness of Chambers being the decisive factor in this fight. Klitschko is all arms and legs, a clumsy heavyweight for the most part.

Haye doesn’t want to fight the Klitschko brothers in front of “boring Germans”

Image: Haye doesn’t want to fight the Klitschko brothers in front of “boring Germans”By Scott Gilfoid: World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye (23-1, 21 KO’s) is doing what he always does when the Klitschko brothers are about to fight, he’s nailing them with criticism. In this case, Haye has come out of the woodwork all of a sudden to question IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, who is fighting tomorrow night in Dusseldorf, Germany, against Eddie Chambers. In an article at the Guardian, Haye says “I’d like to fight them [the Klitschko brothers] in the UK, because everyone knows the German boxing atmosphere is crap. It’s just dull. I’d hate to have one of my defining fights in front of a bunch of boring Germans.”
