Eddie Chambers vs. Tony Thompson in eliminator in August, winner gets Wladimir
By Eric Thomas: Wladimir Klitschko victims Eddie Chambers (36-2, 18 KO’s) and Tony Thompson (36-2, 24 KO’s) will reportedly be fighting an IBF heavyweight title eliminator bout in August with this winner of the fight becoming Wladimir’s mandatory challenger. That’s all well good except that Wladimir has already knocked out both of these guys and if he never fought them again it would be too soon, especially with Chambers.
Eddie Chambers: I’ll give Haye a chance to prove himself against me
By William Mackay: David Haye (25-2, 23 KO’s) won’t have to look hard for guys that want to take him on and let Haye try and prove himself starting with former heavyweight title challenger Eddie Chambers (36-2, 18 Ko’s), who took exception to Haye calling Wladimir Klitschko’s previous knockout victims as bums. Chambers was stopped in the 12th round by Wladimir last year. However, Chambers looked about the same as Haye did in his fight with Wladimir, but showed more skills than Haye.

IBF heavyweight tournament looking weak
By Jason Kim: It was learned today that Alexander Dimitrenko doesn’t want to take part in the IBF tournament. This yet another heavyweight that doesn’t wish to take advantage of this tournament, which will be deciding the mandatory challenger for International Boxing Federation heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.
Wladimir Klitschko’s win over Chambers might not have been impressive enough
By Jason Kim: Although IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KO’s) dominated American Eddie Chambers (35-2, 18 KO’s) for the entire 12 rounds and eventually stopped him in the 12th round last Saturday night for an exciting ending to the fight, it might not have been enough to impress American television network executives at HBO to want to put Klitschko on their cable network in the future. We’ll have to see what happens, but I don’t think this is the kind of performance that Klitschko needed to make a statement for himself as the kind of fighter that the average American boxing fan wants to see for an entertaining fight.
Wladimir says he will “beat up” Haye like he did Chambers
By Eric Thomas: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko is making no bones about his wish to fight WBA heavyweight champion David Haye. In an article at the Daily Mail, Wladimir had this to say about Haye: I will do the same to Haye as I did to Chambers if I get him. When I get him I am going to enjoy the process.”
“He [Haye] criticizes my jab, jab, grab. He will eat a lot of jabs. I will just beat him up and then knock out Haye in one of the late rounds.” Klitschko destroyed Eddie Chambers last Saturday night in a 12th round knockout. With only seconds to go in the fight, Klitschko connected with a perfect left hook that knocked Chambers out cold. The American was down on the canvas for a long time after the knockdown.
