The entire Klitschko-Chisora card canceled along with main event

Image: The entire Klitschko-Chisora card canceled along with main eventBy Jim Dower: A big casualty of IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko’s cancellation of his December 11th bout with Derek Chisora was that the entire undercard was canceled along with that fight. There were a lot of interesting fights that now won’t be taking place this weekend, and that’s unfortunate. Cruiserweight contender Ola Afolabi had a stay busy fight against Lubos Suda, lightweight Gabor was facing Alfred Kotey, middleweight contender Andy Lee had a career building fight against Daniel Urbanski and light middleweight Domonique Dolton was supposed to be fighting Joe Rea.

Is Chisora better off with the Klitschko fight having been canceled?

Image: Is Chisora better off with the Klitschko fight having been canceled?By William Mackay: While it may seem like a really big negative for unbeaten Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) to have his December 11th bout with IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) canceled because of Wladimir’s serious abdominal injury, it might not be that bad of a thing for the young 26-year-old Chisora. The biggest reason why Chisora is going to be alright form all of this is because he still has his British and Commonwealth titles, and he can go back to fighting at the domestic level without having suffered what likely would have been a humiliating defeat against Wladimir.

Wladimir pulls out of Chisora fight with torn abdominal injury, Haye likely next

Image: Wladimir pulls out of Chisora fight with torn abdominal injury, Haye likely nextBy William Mackay: They say with every setback there’s a new door that opens. In the case of IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s), he may end up with a much better fight than the Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) after pulling out of this Saturday’s fight with a torn abdominal injury on the left side of his midsection. Why Wladimir was still working out hard enough to injure himself so close to an important fight isn’t known, but this could still work out well for Wladimir.

Wladimir says to Chisora: “I intend to punish you”

Image: Wladimir says to Chisora: "I intend to punish you"By Sean McDaniel: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) isn’t happy with the amount of trash talking that his opponent Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) has been doing during their recent press conferences to hype their fight on Saturday December 11th. Chisora hasn’t had any qualms about down grounding Wladimir as a fighter, feeling that he hasn’t been good for the sport. At the press conference on Monday, Chisora said “No other countries want to watch you. No one will pay to watch you in Vegas because you stink up the joint.”

Chisora shows no respect for Wladimir at press conference

Image: Chisora shows no respect for Wladimir at press conferenceBy Jim Dower: [Photo credit: KMG/Dmitriy Abramov) Unbeaten Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) had no niceties to say about IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) at their pre-fight press conference yesterday in Germany. Indeed, rather than make the usual comments that fighters generally about how they’re going to beat such and such fighter, Chisora seemed to take it to another level for some reason. Perhaps Chisora himself was angry and didn’t know how to keep it on the present situation but whatever the case, he came across as angry.

Wladimir calls Chisora a “Horrible” person

Image: Wladimir calls Chisora a “Horrible” personBy Sean McDaniel: [Photo credit: KMG/Dmitriy Abramov) IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) has a fight this Saturday night against Britain’s Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) in a fight that will take place in Germany. Klitschko, 34, seems to have a lot of respect for the power and the boxing skills of the 26-year-old Chisora. However, Wladimir doesn’t particularly care for Chisora as a person, perhaps negatively influenced by some of the odd things that Chisora has done both inside and outside the ring. In the past, Chisora bit one of his opponents in a recent fight against Paul Butlin last year in May, and outside of the ring Chisora kissed 280 pound Carl Baker.

Chisora: Wladimir is “slow and on the downside of his career”

Image: Chisora: Wladimir is “slow and on the downside of his career”By Sean McDaniel: [Photo credit: KMG/Dmitriy Abramov) For a challenger with as little experience as unbeaten Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) has he sure is one of the most confident fighters that you’ll ever run into. Chisora, who is outgunned in almost every category in his fight against IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) is their fight for this Saturday night in Germany, speaks as if he’s the champion and Wladimir is nothing more than a mere challenger. And while some fighters are good at faking confidence, Chisora seems to really believe that he’s going to go out and run over Klitschko on Saturday.
