Tyson Fury targeting Deontay Wilder for fight in UK after Chisora fight

deontay1By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury (22-0, 16 KO’s) wants to lure #1 WBC Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KO’s) over to the UK so that he can try and beat him this year. Fury, 25, is going to have a lot of time on his hands after his fight against Dereck Chisora (20-4, 13 KO’s) on July 26th before he finally gets a crack at IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion for a world title shot.

So instead of sitting around and doing nothing, Fury wants to try and take the hard hitting Deontay’s scalp in a fight in the UK. Not surprisingly, Fury isn’t mentioning wanting to get a fight against David Haye after the two bad experiences he had in trying to line up a fight against him.

Stiverne’s trainer thinks Deontay Wilder is skinny and frail

deontay6677By Scott Gilfoid: Don House, the trainer for WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KO’s), believes that #3 WBC Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KO’s) is “frail”, according to Fighthype.com. House doesn’t see Deontay as a strong heavyweight due to his 6’7”, 220 lb. frame, and he thinks that Stiverne will be able ti either knock him out in the first three rounds or take him deep in order to stop him.

House is hoping that Stiverne will be able to take an optional title defense before he has to face Deontay. They’re waiting for the world from the World Boxing Council about whether they can take an optional title defense or if they must face Deontay next. Either way, he says Stiverne will be back in the ring in the next 5 months in November to make his first title defense of his WBC belt.

Deontay Wilder ready to destroy Bermane Stiverne in one round KO

deontay55By Scott Gilfoid: Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KO’s) is ready to face WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KO’s) once Stiverne’s promoter Don King contacts Deontay’s manager Al Haymon to start setting up the fight. Deontay likes the fight and he sees himself knocking Stiverne out in the 1st round like he’s done with 18 of his previous 31 opponents. It’s incredible to even think about. A fighter with 18 knockouts in the 1st round and with 31 consecutive knockouts on their resume.

Wilder, 28, is the WBC mandatory challenger to Stiverne’s title after obliterating Malik Scott in 1 round. The WBC already said that Stiverne must fight Deontay next and he can’t take a unification fight or an optional title defense.

Mike Tyson: It won’t be easy for Deontay Wilder to hit Bermane Stiverne

deontay6677By Scott Gilfoid: Mike Tyson says he thinks unbeaten heavyweight talent Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KO’s) will have problems landing his big power shots against WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KO’s) in their still unscheduled heavyweight clash this year. For some reason Tyson thinks the 6’2″ Stiverne is hard to hit despite the fact that he was nailed early and often by his last opponent Chris Arreola in their recent fight on May 10th.

Besides the elusiveness problem that Tyson thinks Stiverne presents, Tyson wants to see what happens when Deontay gets hit a lot. He thinks that it says a lot about a fighter in the amount of punishment they’re able to absorb.

Will Stiverne risk being stripped by WBC by making optional title defense next?

stiverne4444(Photo credit: Sumio Yamada) By Scott Gilfoid: Newly crowned WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne is in a situation where he’s expected to fight his WBC mandatory challenger Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KO’s) next rather than Stiverne taking an optional title defense. His promoter Don King was talking about Stiverne taking an optional title defense for his next fight. However, the WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman made it clear on the WBC’s website that Stiverne must face Deontay next.

The question is will Stiverne ignore the WBC and take an optional title defense next in a move that would essentially be daring the WBC to strip him or will he follow what they’re saying and face the dangerous 6’7” Deontay next?

Deontay Wilder on crash course with Bermane Stiverne for WBC heavyweight title fight

wilder991By Scott Gilfoid: By now WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KO’s) has received the bad news that WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman says that Stiverne won’t be able to fight a unification match against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko next, and instead he’ll be required to face his mandatory challenger Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KO’s) next, unless they can come to agreement with Deontay to get him to step aside.

That’s a possibility, to be sure, but it’s going to cost a pretty penny to make that happen, because Deontay already said that he won’t be stepping aside for anything less than $10 million. That’s definitely out of Stiverne’s price range to come up with that kind of green stuff to pay Deontay.

WBC President Clarifies : Bermane Stiverne must fight Deontay Wilder next

wilder093By Bradley Dee: In a statement by WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, Bermane Stiverne must fight his mandatory challenger next, who happens to be Deontay Wilder. Contrary to this statement, Don King released last week that Bermane has an optional defense available to him.

Just 3 days ago Pulev was listed as Wladimir Klitschko’s next fight on boxrec, and that is gone now, and it looks like Wlad is going to attempt to get Stiverne in the ring with him in September and pay some step aside money to Wilder, and maybe even Kubrat Pulev, which Pulev would be crazy to take. If Wlad DOES get Wilder to step aside and fights Stiverne, he will have to fight Wilder next, which leaves Pulev in the cold again. Wilder wants 10 million to step aside which is absolutely insane and he will never get it. My feelings are either Pulev or Wilder are not going to allow this unification.

In an attempt to clarify, I sent a letter to the WBC asking for clarification.

Deontay Wilder says he wants a $10 million step aside fee to let Stiverne fight someone else

deontay72By Scott Gilfoid: If WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KO’s) wants to avoid fighting his WBC mandatory challenger Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KO’s) next then it’s going to cost him some big cash in order to make that happen, says Deontay. He wants $10 million to step aside so that Stiverne can fight someone like IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko or whoever else that Stiverne and his promoter Don King might have in mind for him to fight next, according to RingTV.

Obviously that kind of money is far too prohibitive for Stiverne to side step the talented 6’7″ Deontay, so he’s pretty much going to have to take that fight with him unless he can find $10 million somewhere.

Who Will Get The First Shot at Bermane Stiverne’s New WBC Title?

stiverne999999(Photo credit: Naoki Fakuda) Now that the ice has settled on Saturday night’s farcical heavyweight (so called) world title fight between Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KO’s) and the pathetic Chris Arreola (36-4, 31 KO’s) I am going to discuss how important the future of this WBC heavyweight strap is going to be.

The fight on Saturday night didn’t teach us anything that we didn’t already know before this weekend as the unfit and over weight Stiverne had already easily beaten the slightly less out of shape, Arreola in very similar fashion last year. However under heavy influence from the American Dollar the WBC were urged to make them fight again for the world (American) title even though neither man has ever proved that he can mix it with elite level guys from Europe or the rest of the world. This was most probably a smoke screen anyway as at the same time the average Deontay Wilder was told that he would be the mandatory challenger to the cherry picked winner.

Haye: Deontay Wilder will easily KO Stiverne

deontay32 - Copy (2)By Scott Gilfoid: British fighter David Haye attended last night’s fight between Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KO’s) and Chris Arreola (36-4, 31 KO’s) for the vacant WBC heavyweight title at the USC Galen Center, in Los Angeles, California, USA, and Haye says he didn’t see anything in Stiverne’s performance that would suggest that he can beat the WBC mandatory challenger Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KO’s) when it comes time for Stiverne to defend against him.

Right now it’s still unknown when Stiverne will take that fight with the 6’7″ Deontay, but he’s going to have to fight him sooner or later or else the WBC will strip him of the title.
