Algieri is all wrong for Pacquiao, says Byrd

algieri52By Chris Williams: Former heavyweight world champion Chris Byrd believes that WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KOs) has bitten off more than he can chew in taking on WBO 140lb champion Chris Algieri (20-0, 8 KOs) in their scheduled fight on November 22nd on HBO pay-per-view at the Cotai Arena, Venetian Resort, Macao, Macao S.A.R., China.

Byrd sees Algieri’s 5’10” height as being all wrong for the 35-year-old Pacquiao, and he also sees his defensive skills and youth being a problem for the aging Filipino star as well. Byrd likes Algieri’s boxing skills as well, and he thinks he could end up out-boxing Pacquiao in this fight.

Byrd impressed with Fury and Price

price422By Scott Gilfoid: Former two time heavyweight champion Chris Byrd is really impressed with what he’s seen of the two giant British heavyweights David Price and Tyson Fury, and he thinks they could be talented fighters in the future if they keep progressing. Byrd believes Price and Fury would give anyone in the division problems, including the Klitschkos.

Speaking with secondsout.com, Byrd said “Well Vitali is 40 something and Wladimir 36. I look at David Price and he’s got a ton of talent.
