By Dave Lahr: Undefeated heavyweight contender Chris Arreola (27-0, 24 KOs) has been a disappointment to some people who were originally impressed upon seeing a relatively slim 239 pound Arreola stop contender Chazz Witherspoon in the 3rd round last year in June 2008.

Vitali Klitschko vs. Arreola Next?
By Jim Dower: Although the World Boxing Council wants WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (37-2, 36 KOs) to defend his title against forty-year-old Oleg Maskaev next, Vitali instead is looking to defend his title against his WBC number #1 challenger undefeated Chris Arreola (27-0, 24 KOs) instead. Vitali is reportedly resisting having to fight Maskaev, since Vitali already defended his title against his number #1 mandatory challenger Juan Carlos Gomez in March, stopping him in the 9th round in Germany.

Wladimir Not To Face Haye or Arreola: Dimitrenko Could Be Replacement
By Chris Williams: First of all, there’s good news and bad news about Wladimir Klitschko. The good part is that we won’t have to hear about the drama of his tiresome negotiating with David Haye, because that fight is pretty much dead in the water now. What’s bad is that Wladimir’s replacement, the knockout artist Chris Arreola, won’t be able to step in as a replacement opponent for Wladimir because he’s scheduled to fight journeyman Jameel McCline on April 11th.

Cotto vs. Jennings, Pavlik vs. Rubio, Peter Challenges Arreola – News
Tuesday, January 13, Press Conference Quotes from Madison Square Garden
Miguel Cotto
I don’t know anything about my opponent. I have not watched any tapes of him.
Right now I feel good, but I miss the gym and the fights. I am hungry to get back. I have walked around at about 176 or 178. The people in Puerto Rico have made me feel real good, as well as my family.
Can Arreola Beat Wladimir?
By Chris Williams: Not too many people are giving heavyweight contender Chris Arreola (26-0, 23 KOs) much of a chance at beating IBF/WBO champion Wladimir Klitschko (52-3, 46 KOs) in their rumored bout for the Spring, but unlike some of them, I think that Arreola has a very real chance at beating the 32-year-old Klitschko. Of course, Arreola’s only hope is to try cutting off real estate on Wladimir and force him into a fight rather than allowing him to jab at a distance.
