Deontay Wilder: I want Joshua or Fury in October or November

wilder8

By Jeff Aranow: WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder says he’s ready to fight a unification match against IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua or IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury if they win their next fights and if they’re interested in fighting him. Wilder says he’s wants to fight either of those guys.

Whether a unification fight takes place between one of those to British champions will depend on them winning, and Wilder winning his next fight against Chris Arreola on July 16. Of course, it also will depend on Joshua or Fury’s promoters being open to letting them fight Wilder in a risky unification match.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn wants to match him against Fury in November. Fury says he would like to fight Joshua or Wilder. Fury would likely take the bigger money fight against Joshua, however.

Wilder vs. Arreola: Chris plans to take advantage of opportunity

arreola45

By Patrick McHugh: After failing on two previous world title shots in the past, Chris Arreola (36-4-1, 31 KOs) plans on making the most of his opportunity in his fight next month against WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “Bronze Bomber” Wilder (36-0, 35 KOs) on July 16 at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.

Arreola is no longer a young fight at 35, and this might be his last chance to fight for a world title fight if he loses to Wilder. For that that reason, Arreola is going to need to take out all the stops in his training camp to get ready for this fight.

Arreola cannot afford to come into the fight out of shape and unable to fight hard for 12 rounds. It would also help if Arreola’s chin holds up because it failed him in a big way in his two defeats to Bermane Stiverne in 2013 and 2014.

Deontay Wilder a HUGE favorite over Chris Arreola

wilder10

(Photo Credit: Bill Hoffman/Bruno Event Team) By Scott Gilfoid: The oddsmakers have WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (36-0, 35 KOs) a tremendous favorite to hand Chris Arreola (36-4-1, 31 KOs) his fifth defeat of his career on July 16 in their fight at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. It’s given that the talented 6’7” Deontay would the favorite going into their fight on Premier Boxing Champions on Fox and Fox Deportes just based on his punching power, size, speed and mobility, but this fight is seen as a HUGE mismatch for some reason.

According to Bavado, Wilder is listed at -5000 to beat the 35-year-old Arreola. For his part, Arreola is listed at +1400. That doesn’t mean that Arreola doesn’t have a chance to pull off an upset on July 16 when he gets inside the ring with the unbeaten Wilder.

Deontay Wilder: Arreola got the fight by staying patient

wilder9

(Photo Credit: Bill Hoffman/Bruno Event Team) By Jeff Aranow: If you wonder why Chris Arreola (36-4-1, 31 KOs) was selected for WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “Bronze Bomber” Wilder (36-0,35 KOs) for his next fight on July 16, it’s because the 35-year-old Arreola stayed patient and he was the right person for the fight, according to Wilder.

It was more than a case of Arreola staying patient. Arreola was given the fight against Wilder because he’s always involved in exciting action packed fights, and he’s previously fought for world titles on two occasions.

1-DEONTAY WILDER-MEDIA WORKOUT-01122015-9197

By Patrick McHugh: WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (36-0, 35 KOs) is working out with #8 IBF, #12 WBC contender Eric Molina (25-3, 19 KOs) to get ready for his July 16 title defense against former two-time world title challenger Chris Arreola (36-4-1, 31 KOs) at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. Jarrell Miller trashes Deontay Wilder and Chris Arreola

Image: Jarrell Miller trashes Deontay Wilder and Chris Arreola

By Dan Ambrose: Unbeaten #11 WBA fringe heavyweight contender Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (17-0-1, 15 KOs) has been largely ignored throughout his seven-year pro career by fans and other fighters as a whole, but he now seems to be trying a different approach to get known. Instead of fighting the best, which is what he should be doing, Miller is getting the attention the easy way by name-dropping the top heavyweights like Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.

Miller, 27, isn’t impressed with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “Bronze Bomber” Wilder’s choice of opponent for his next fight on July 16 at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. Wilder (36-0, 35 KOs) will be defending his WBC title against 35-year-old former two-time world heavyweight title challenger Chris Arreola (36-4-1, 31 KOs) on Premier Boxing Champions on Fox and Fox Deportes.

Krzysztof Glowacki and Oleksandr Usyk reach agreement

usyk2

By Eric Baldwin: Unbeaten WBO cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Glowacki (26-0, 16 KOs) and #1 WBO mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk (9-0, 9 KOs) have reached an agreement for a fight on September 10 or 17 in Poland, according to Fight News. Glowacki and Usyk’s agreement in the negotiations means there won’t be a purse bid.

It should be a great fight. Glowacki, 29, has defended his WBO title once in beating fringe contender Steve Cunningham last April by a 12 round decision. The southpaw Glowacki captured the WBO cruiserweight title last year in August in stopping Marco Huck in the 11th round after knocking him down twice in the round. Glowacki was knocked down himself in the 6th round by a hard right hand from Huck.
