Barrera – Khan fight in Doubt

barrera5355337By Simon Hirst: It appears as if there is some doubt about the Khan-Barrera fight taking place now after Barrera suffered a cut in a warm up fight in Jalisco, Mexico. The Baby Faced Assassin picked the injury up in a low key fight that was title a ‘warm up’ bout for the Amir Khan fight. The fight was against Freudis Rojas, who actually came in as a late comer as Barrera’s original opponent John Nalasco failed to turn up to the weigh in.

Khan vs. Barrera – Age before Beauty?

khan6456By Alistair Tinsley: Many boxing fans will want to know what the hell Frank Warren is doing putting his baby-faced charge against such a formidable opponent as Marco Antonio Barerra? But is it as clear cut as a 3 weight world champion crushing an inexperienced journeyman? Khan is coming off an emphatic KO loss to Breidis Prescott and an emphatic win over Osin Fagan. Barrera-Khan: Amir Will Need A Good Chin To Win This Fight

khan755537By Jason Kim: I really think Amir Khan is a great fighter and has loads of potential in boxing. But I question whether he has the chin to get the job done against former six-time champion Marco Antonio Barrera on March 14th at the M.E.N. Arena, in Manchester, Lancashire. There’s a big difference from being a challenger/prospect than being a former champion and someone that has proven himself again and again against the best fighters in the sport.

Why Is Barrera Going After Khan?

barrera464533344By Chris Williams: While Amir Khan (19-01, 15 KOs) has caught quite a bit of flake lately for choosing to take on a fighter as accomplished as Marco Antonio Barrera (64-6, 43 KOs) for a bout on March 14th, the same question in reverse could be put to Barrera. What on Earth is he thinking in fighting a lightweight as fast and talented as Khan? Forget about Khan’s history of chin problems for a moment, and consider what would happen if Khan isn’t knocked out.

Khan vs. Barrera: Glass Chin vs. Faded Skills

khan5673427By Jim Dower: Amir Khan is looking to erase the sting of defeat from his stoppage loss to Breidis Prescott by fighting Marco Antonio Barrera on March 14th. If Khan can win, he may partially rehabilitate his name with some fans and make a big step forward in the lightweight division. Certainly, Khan’s last fight, a 2nd round TKO over little known Oisin Fagan in December, did little to ease the pain of his 1st round loss to Prescott.

Barrera vs. Khan: Look For An Easy Win For Amir

khan4569By Chris Williams: I’m no fan of lightweight contender Amir Khan (19-1, 15 KOs), especially after seeing him get destroyed in 54 seconds of the 1st round by Breidis Prescott (20-0, 18 KOs) in September, but I think Amir has more than enough to beat Marco Antonio Barrera (64-6, 43 KOs) on March 14th. I can see why Barrera was chosen as an opponent for Khan.
