Tony Harrison wants Tim Tszyu rematch after beating him

By Allan Fox: Tony Harrison says he wants to fight a rematch with Tim Tszyu after he defeats him on Saturday night rather than going ahead with a title shot against undisputed junior middleweight champion Jermell Charlo.

Harrison (29-3-1, 21 KOs) is really enjoying being in Sydney, Australia, for his fight with Tszyu (21-0, 15 KOs) this week, and he wants to come right back for a rematch.

The money the 32-year-old Harrison is making is obviously good, and he should get an even better deal in a second fight if he comes out victorious.

Tszyu plans to ensure Harrison doesn’t ruin his dreams of challenging Charlo for the undisputed championship on Saturday when the two meet in the main event on March 11 at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia. The fight even will be shown on Showtime at 10:45 p.m. ET.

Harrison needs to be at his best for this fight because he’s not been all that active in the last four years, fighting just twice against B-level opposition that isn’t at the same level as Tszyu.

Harrison hasn’t seemed all that serious about his career since his loss to Jermell in 2019, and it just seems he’s lost the focus he once had when he was young and hungry.

“Tim is fighting me at the right time where all those mistakes won’t be made again,” said Tony Harrison to Fight Hub TV. “Come Saturday night ‘and the new.’

“Kudos to his management. They matched him perfectly. They promoted him right. He’s 21-0, and he’s here for the fight of his life. I don’t know. We might see another Tim and Tony Harrison II again,” said Harrison when asked what happens if he beats Tszyu.

“I’m going where the money is at. Once my stock rise, give me the money I need. I always put in my mind that might not happen,” said Harrison about a third fight against Jermell Charlo.

“If they want me to back over here, as long as it’s not winter time, I’ll come back over here,” said Harrison.

“It’s never easy. We’ll see,” said Tszyu when asked how the weight cut is getting down to 154. “I’m doing it professionally. I’ve left no stone unturned, and everything is going to be by the books.

“This is my coming out party. This is it for me. This is my moment to shine,” said Tszyu. “100%, that’s the plan,” said Tim when asked if undisputed is next.
