Philadelphia and the Area Unbeaten Prospects!

By Ken Hissner: Before we take a look at some of the Philadelphia and the area unbeaten prospects, let’s take a look at two of the unbeaten Philadelphia boxers. First, the WBC and WBO World Super Bantamweight champion Stephen “Cool Boy Steph” Fulton, 21-0 with 8 stoppages.

The other world-ranked welterweight Jaron “Boots” Ennis, 29-0 with 27 stoppages. Ennis is scheduled for January 7th on Showtime PPV in Washington, DC. He faces Ukraine’s Karen Chukhadzhian, 21-1, with 11 stoppages, out of Germany.

Now let’s take a look at the following unbeaten boxers who are following in the footsteps of Fulton and Ennis.

On January 20th, Marshall Kauffman’s Kings Promotions is putting a number of Philadelphia and the area unbeaten boxers on his boxing event at Wind Creek Events Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, over Showtime USA.

Let’s take a look at those who are on this event:

Super Welterweight James Bernadin, is 9-0-1 with 6 stoppages. The combined record of his 10 opponents is 63-40-4. Bernadin was born in Haiti and resides in Lancaster, PA. Bernadin is promoted by Kings Promotions and was 4-0 in 2022. His biggest win was in September, stopping Jairo “Doberman” Lopez, 27-16, from Mexico.

Light Heavyweight southpaw Atif Oberlton, 7-0 with 6 stoppages is from Philadelphia. Oberlton was 4-0 in 2022. The combined record of his 7 opponents is 72-43-2. His two biggest wins were in 2022. In January, he stopped Ernest Amuzu, 26-5, from Ghana. In October, he stopped Christian Thomas, 11-0, from Michigan.

Oberlton takes on Artem Brusov, 12-0 with 11 stoppages, from Russia, residing in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Super Featherweight Julian Gonzalez, is 8-0-1 with 8 stoppages from Reading, PA. Gonzalez is promoted by Kings Promotions and was 3-0-1 in 2022. The combined record of his opponents is 45-53-6. His biggest win was in March when he stopped Carlos “Batey” Padilla, 17-10-1, from Colombia, South America. In April, Gonzalez drew with Cuban Ivan Jimenez, 7-1-1.

Teasley takes on Joe Sambrano, 4-16-2, from Peasonton, TX, 4 rounds.
Another unbeaten Philadelphia prospect is Heavyweight Sonny “Bronco” Conto, 11-0 with 9 stoppages. The combined record of his 11 opponents is 47-35-5. Conto was 3-0 in 2022. He is managed by David McWater. In October, Conto stopped James Bryant, 6-1, from Pittsburgh, PA.

In the amateurs, Conto was a 2017 National Golden Gloves quarter-finalist. In 2018 he was a National Golden Gloves finalist.

Super Lightweight southpaw Isaiah Johnson, 6-0 with 5 stoppages, is from Philadelphia. The combined record of his opponents is 31-54-4. His promoter is Rodney Rice of RDR Promotions. He was 3-0 in 2022.
Johnson is scheduled to fight on March 4th at “The NAC” in Newtown, PA., an opponent TBA.

Lightweight Rashan Adams, 4-0 with 3 stoppages, is from Philadelphia. The combined record of his opponents is 8-22. His promoter is Rodney Rice of RDR Promotions.

He is scheduled March 4th at “The NAC” in Newtown, PA, against Mexico’s Oscar Barrajas, 6-8-1 though RDR claims he is 17-8-1 after defeating Damon Allen, but box rec disagrees.

Super Bantamweight Romuel “Cuco” Cruz, 8-0-1 with 3 stoppages, is from Philadelphia via Puerto Rico. The combined record of his opponents is 36-65-7.
