The countdown to UNDISPUTED has officially begun with today marking 100-days-to-go until Australian boxing superstar Tim Tszyu fights for the undisputed super-welterweight championship of the world.

Tszyu will face the undisputed champion at 154-lbs (70kg), 32-year-old American Jermell Charlo, for all the belts (WBO, WBC, IBF & WBA) on January 28, 2023 (January 29 in Australia).

The fight will be live and exclusive Foxtel’s Main Event and Kayo Sports and is expected to be one of the most watched title fights of all time in Australia.

Jermell Charlo is ranked in the top 10 pound-for-pound list, was the seventh man to become the undisputed champion in the four-belt era and the first male to do so in the super-welterweight division.

The superfight also coincides with the 28th anniversary of Tszyu’s hall of fame father, Kostya, making his Vegas debut against Jake Rodriguez in 1995 to win the IBF light-welterweight title.

The hallowed walls of the Tszyu Boxing Academy in Sydney took centre stage today with the proud legacy of the Tszyu name on display and the floors soaked with the blood, sweat and tears of Tszyu fighters past and present.

Tim Tszyu was present alongside his uncle and trainer Igor Goloubev, brother and rising prospect Nikita Tszyu, manager Glen Jennings and No Limit CEO George Rose to launch the 100 days till undisputed campaign. The team provided an update and insight as to the road ahead for Tim to become undisputed champion of the world.

Tim Tszyu said: “This is the Superbowl, the Grand Final. This is the clutch shot of a NBA finals, this is equivalent to that. It’s the last 100 days that I’m going to be a non-champion, let’s just say that.”

“The 28th of January as many people know ws the day that dad (Kostya) beat Jake Rodriguez for the first world title in Vegas. It was the start of his career and it’s pretty crazy, like a deja vu type feeling, that it’s happening the second way around on the exact same date in the exact same location 28 years apart. It’s pretty insane. It was a total domination, he completely annihilated Jake Rodriguez and cemented himself as the best super lightweight on the planet at the time.”

“My birthday is on the second of November, so it’s coming up and mum asked what are you going to do and I said I don’t want to do nothing. She was like the funny thing is, when dad was prepping for his first world title, he said the exact same thing. All in, no ‘Plan B’, just all in.

“For me and Igor, we need to disappear, get into the jungle (in Thailand) and go back to the basics, the old school training methods. That’s what got us to this position and just to isolate and be away from all distractions. Be away from everything and focus on what’s ahead, because what’s ahead is going to be one hell of a ride.”

No Limit CEO George Rose said: “We’re 100 days away from the son of a hall of fame legend, fighting on the exact same date 28 years on from his father winning the first of many world titles in Las Vegas. It’s absolutely incredible.”

“It’s a really exciting time for us as well here at No Limit Boxing and it’s been a hell of a journey to get to here. Knowing that we are now in a position to provide fighters the ability to fight overseas, to be doing a co-promotion with PBC who have been absolutely fantastic is amazing and the countdown in now on until Tim becomes undisputed champion of the world.”
