Will Any of The Young Talents Be Champs?

By Ken Hissner: There are a number of young heavyweights who are currently unbeaten or with outstanding records with less than twenty-five fights, but will any of them be talented enough to be champions someday. Let’s take a look at some and see what you think.

Joe “Juggernaut” Joyce, 13-0 with 12 knockouts, is from the UK. In Joyce’s amateur career, he was 1-2 to France’s Tony Yoka, now 11-1 (9). In 2013 he lost to current WBA, WBO, and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk, in the World Series of Boxing in 2013.

Filip “El Animal” Hrgovic 14-0 (12), of Croatia. He stopped Marko Radonjik, 22-1 (22), of Montenegro out of Germany, who defeated Sami Enbom, 18-5

Martin Bakole, 18-1 (13), of Democratic Republic of Congo, out of Scotland, UK. Defeated Tony Yoka, 11-0, Marius Wach, 33-4, Sergey Kuzmin, 15-1.

Nathan Gorman, 19-1 (13) of the UK only lost to Dubois. In his last bout, he stopped Tomas Salek, 17-3, Russian Mohamed Soltby, then 13-0, now 17-2, out of Germany.

Marcin Siwy, 25-0 (12), of Poland. In his last fight defeated Rydell Booker, 26-4-1

Cassius Chaney, 21-1 (14), of New London, CT, defeated Chancey Welliver, 57-12-5, and lost in his last fight to George Arias, 16-0, of the Dominican Republic and Bronx, NY, now 18-0 (7).

Ivan Dychko, 12-0 (11), of Kazakhstan, of Kissimmee, FL. 2012 Olympics lost to Anthony Joshua, and the 2016 Olympics lost to Joe Joyce. Stopped Aleksandr Ustinov, 36-5-1.

Bakhodir Jalolov, 11-0 (11), of Uzbekistan and Brooklyn, NY, 2016 Olympics. Defeated Kristaps Zutis, 7-1-2.

Raphael Akpejiori, 14-0 (13), of Lagos, Nigeria and Miami, FL. Stopped Santander Silgado, 30-9.

Ebenezer Tetteh, 20-1 (17), of Ghana only loss to Dubois. In his last fight stopped Haruna Osumanu, 11-1.

Stephan “Big Shot” Shaw, 16-0 (12), of St. Louis, MO. He defeated Lyubomyr Pinchuk, 12-1-1, and stopped Joey Dawejko, 21-9-4.

Agit Kabayel, 22-0 (14), of Germany, defeated Herve Hubeaux, 26-1 and Miljan Rovcanin, 19-1, and Derek Chisora, 27-7.

Jared “Big Baby” Anderson, 11-0 (11), of Toledo, OH. Defeated in his last two fights Oleksandr Teslenko, 17-1, and Vladimir Tereshkin, 22-0-1.

Kash Ali, 21-1 (12), of the UK. Stopped Tomas Salek, 15-2, and Roman Gorst, 7-1.

One that has become a world champion is Daniel “Dynamite” Dubois, 18-1 (17), of the UK, only lost to Joyce. Won the WBA Heavy title in the last fight stopping Trevor Bryan, 22-0. Stopped Nathan Gorman 16-0, Ebenezer Tetteh, 19-0, Richard Lartey, 14-1, Kyotaro Fujimoto, 21-1, Ricardo Snijders, 18-1.
