By Huck Allen: Dillian ‘The Body Snatcher’ Whyte will need put together the perfect fight to beat the huge 6’9″ Tyson Fury on Saturday night to capture his WBC heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

While it’s not impossible for the 6’4″ Whyte (28-2, 19 KOs) to overcome the five-inch height and seven-inch reach advantage of Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs), it’s going to require a well-coordinated effort on his to accomplish this mission.

When scouting the enemy, you must look for points of weakness, and focus on your strengths to attack that area without thinking twice and veering away from your plan.

The weaknesses are there in Fury’s game, but it remains to be seen if Whyte can stick to the mission without getting flustered, sloppy, and mentally scattered at the first hint of trouble.

Even the best battle won’t always be perfect, but if Whyte can stay the course, he can win.

Fury’s talk of retirement isn’t a good thing for him because he could lack the conviction to fight all-out in the way needed to defeat the hungry Dillian.

Whyte must get Fury’s jab

“He can punch, but you need more than the power to beat Tyson Fury. How many times did Deontay Wilder, one of the biggest punchers in boxing drop Fury? Four times in three fights?” said Sergio Mora to DAZN Boxing Show.

“What did Tyson Fury do? He got up every single time and took the fight to him. He was boxing behind that jab, and Fury has one of the best jabs out there, especially as a heavyweight,” said Mora.

“He can get in there and maul you, wrestle you and tire you out & put his pressure, size and weight on you. Tyson can do it all.

“Dillian Whyte, he’s been at the big stage and he’s come up short twice [against Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin]. He’s going to come up short a third time against ‘The Gypsy King’ come Saturday.

“We better [see a better version of Whyte]. When was the best version of Dillian Whyte? He fought some really good names as a top contender, battling undefeated fighters.

Dillian has come up short twice

“So, yes, when he fought champions, Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin, he gets stopped,” said Mora. “Now, he’s fighting the champion. Not only is Fury going to be younger, and longer, he’s going to have a seven-inch reach advantage.

“How are you going to get past that when you pop jabs and go in there. I think the best advantage that Dillian Whyte is body punching, but he has to get in on the inside to accomplish that.

“So, he’s going to have to get past the five inches in height advantage that he’s going to have against Fury. It’s going to be too much for him on the inside and he’s going to get batted around. For that, I can’t see him winning this fight,” said Mora about Whyte.
