Shakur Stevenson says Errol Spence will beat up Yordenis Ugas

By Allan Fox: Shakur Stevenson foresees Errol Spence Jr. beating up Yordenis Ugas in a one-sided fight on April 16th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Stevenson says  Spence (27-0, 21 KOs) could wind up stopping WBA welterweight champion Ugas (27-4, 12 KOs), and he’s predicting a lot of body shots from Errol.

Against a technical fighter like Ugas, who is well-schooled from his upbringing in Cuban, IBF/WBC champion Spence will need to attack his midsection.

Spence too much for Ugas

Ugas and his trainer Ismael Salas are going to have a good game plan for the fight, but it remains to be seen if they can prevent Spence from unloading on him. Spence is powerful, capable of throwing a lot of shots, and he has an excellent chance.

For Ugas to win this fight, he’s going to need to raise his game from what we saw in his fights with Manny Pacquiao and Shawn Porter because if he fights like that,

Spence and Ugas will be headling on Showtime pay-per-view on April 16th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

“I see Spence beating him up,” said Shakur Stevenson to Fight Hub TV in predicting a win for Errol Spence Jr. over Yordenis Ugas. “Maybe he’ll stop him or maybe he won’t, but he’s going to go to his body a lot.

“I feel like Spence is a better fighter. I think it’ll be one-sided,” Shakur said about his view of Errol having too much for Yordenis. “Ugas is a good fighter, but stylistically, Spence is going to get him,” said Shakur.

Crawford beats Jermell Charlo

“I don’t get into other people’s drama,” Stevenson said when told that Jermell Charlo said some stuff about Terence Crawford this week. “Bud is going to surprise him. He doesn’t think Bud is strong,” said Stevenson.

That would be impressive if Crawford moved up to 154 and defeated Jermell Charlo, especially if he faces him after he becomes the undisputed champion.

Crawford should make that move to go up to junior middleweight this year if he doesn’t get the Spence fight. If Canelo Alvarez is talented enough to move up in down between weight classes, Crawford should be able to do the same thing.

“He’s talking about being a knockout artist,” said Stevenson about Jermell. “I definitely don’t see that happening with Bud. I feel like Bud is a better overall fighter,” Stevenson said about his view of Crawford being a superior fighter than Jermell Charlo.

“We’ve seen him struggle with Tony Harrison, and I feel like Bud is, no disrespect to Tony Harrison, I feel like Bud is levels above Tony Harrison. I think that Bud would beat him.

“I think Bud, it surprises people how strong he actually is. I’ve seen him knock out heavyweights. I’ve seen him knock out heavyweights and hurt 178-pounders. I’m not going to say no names, but it’s fighters out there right now that I’ve seen him put down and hurt, and all that kind of stuff

“I feel if Charlo gets hit with one of those types of punches, he’s going to have a change of mind.

“I think that’s a great fight,” said Shakur about a future match between Crawford and Spence. “I think Errol is better than Charlo. I think that’s a great fight. I’ve got a lot of respect for Errol Spence, but Bud is my brother.

“As I said, I think that would be a great fight. I would love to be in the front row to watch that fight. I think it would be a lot more technical than people think,” said Shakur about Crawford vs. Spence.
