In the first round, after a minute, Sanchez landed a left hook to the chin and down went O’Quinn for the 8-count by referee Gary Ritter. Sanchez jumped all over O’Quinn, dropping him again with an overhand right to the side of the head for another 8-count. Sanchez jumped all over O’Quinn with a 3-punch combination dropping him causing referee Ritter to wave it off.

In the co-feature, WBA No. 11 ranked Featherweight Luis “The Twist” Reynaldo Nunez, 12-0 (8), #125.6, of Puerto Plata, DR, and Reading, PA, easily defeated Jayvon ‘Jigsaw’ Garnett, 10-1 (5), #125.6, of Cincinnati, OH, over ten lopsided rounds.

In the first two rounds, the taller Nunez pressed the action chasing Garnett down. In the third round, Nunez landed the heavier punches against the countering Garnett but was warned for a low blow by referee Gerald Ritter. In the fourth round, Garnett did fine when he stood his ground, but in the final minute, he went into survival mode, letting Nunez to take the round. In the fifth round, little changed with Nunez outworking Garnett.

In the sixth round, the action slowed with Nunez taking another round while Garnett didn’t look interested enough to try to take a round dancing away for the most part. In the seventh round, Nunez ripped uppercut body shots when Garnett decided to stand his ground. Otherwise, he continues running around the ring. In the eighth round, Nunez was warned for the third time in the bout about landing a low blow by referee Ritter but did more than enough against the reluctant Garnett to take another round.

In the ninth round, the corner of Garnett encouraged him to stand in there, being well behind. He started the round doing it for the first minute before getting back on his bicycle in survival mode. In the tenth and final round, Nunez started stomping his right foot possibly having his right leg cramping up. Garnett did not take advantage of this, allowing the birthday boy Nunez to continue the shutout!

All three judges and this writer had it 100-90. After the decision, Nunez lived up to his nickname “The Twist,” doing it in the ring to the music of Chubby Checker.

WBA No. 9 ranked Super Featherweight Otar “Pit Bull” Eranosyan, 10-0 (6), #130, of Georgia and Miami Beach, FL, defeated Alejandro “Pork Chop” Guerrero, 12-2 (9), #129 ¼, of Houston, TX, over eight action-packed rounds.

In the first round, both had their moments, with Guerrero taking the first half and Eranosyan the second half in a pick em’ round. In the second round, Eranosyan was more aggressive, finishing the round very strong. In the third round, after a minute, Eranosyan landed a left hook knocking back the head of Guerrero in another competitive round. In the fifth round, Eranosyan had his best round countering a left hook from Guerrero with a right cross on the chin midway through the round. In between rounds, Eranosyan continues to stand.

In the sixth round, Guerrero continues holding his own but not enough to take the round from the bodywork of Eranosyan. In the seventh round, Guerrero used his shoulder while in a clinch twice to the face of Eranosyan, receiving a warning from referee Gary Ritter giving Eranosyan a minute rest. In the final seconds, a right from Eranosyan on the chin of Guerrero landed at the bell.

In the eighth and final round, at the minute mark, Eranosyan pushed down Guerrero. Halfway through the round, Eranosyan knocked out the mouthpiece of Guerrero with a right on the chin. Eranosyan showboated, shaking his right hand with lifting his right leg on occasions throughout playing to the crowd. Guerrero was the perfect opponent to make it a solid fight for the crowd.

Scores were 79-73 twice and 78-74 with this writer 79-73.
