Boxing Results: Chris “Primetime” Colbert Defeats Tugstsogt “King Tug” Nyambayar!

By Ken Hissner: At the Dignity Health Sports Park, at Carson, California, Saturday over Showtime, TGB Promotions – Tom Brown and Sampson Boxing – Sampson Lewkowicz present in the Main Event interim WBA World Super Featherweight champion Ranked No. 1 Chris “Primetime” Colbert easily defeated Tugstsogt “King Tug” Nyambayer.

In the co-feature former USBA Lightweight champion and No. 11 ranked IBF Michel “La Zarza Ali” Rivera came off the canvas to knockout WBC Latino Lightweight champion Jon Fernandez in 8 rounds.

In the Main Event interim WBA World Super Featherweight champion Chris “Primetime” Colbert, 16-0 (6), #130, of Brooklyn, NY, dominated late sub Tugstsogt “King Tug” Nyambayer, 12-2 (9), #129 ½, of Mongolia and L.A., CA, over 12 rounds.

In the first six rounds Colbert dominated with his hand and foot speed outworking Nyambayer. In the tenth round one that Colbert predicted a stoppage he came out firing in the first minute. In the twelfth and final round Colbert continued to dominate in a lopsided fight.

Scores were 117-111, 118-110 twice with this writer 119-109. Referee was Thomas Taylor

In the co-feature Lightweight Michel “La Zarza Ali” Rivera, 21-0 (14), #134 ½, of DR and Miami, FL, knocked out Jon “Jonfer” Fernandez, 21-2 (28), #135, of Madrid, Bilbao, Spain, at 0:44 of the eighth round of a scheduled 12 rounds, WBA eliminator.

In the first round a right uppercut from Rivera on the chin of Fernandez snapped his head back inside the final minute of the round. In the third round Rivera rocked Fernandez twice with rights to the chin in the first minute of the round.

In the sixth round a right from Fernandez on the chin and down went Rivera halfway through the round taking an 8-count from referee Jack Reiss. In the eighth round a solid right from Rivera on the side of the head of Fernandez and down he went face first to the canvas for the count of referee Reiss. All 3 judges had Rivera ahead.

Super Feather Angel Alejandro, 10-0 (4), #131, of Dallas, TX, defeated southpaw Rudy Ochoa, 10-1 (5), #129 ½, of Oxnard, CA, over 8 rounds.

Scores were 79-73, 80-72 and 78-74.

Feather Shon Mondragon, 7-0 (2), #125 ¼, f Commerce City, CO, won a majority decision over Jose “El Mudo” Perez, 9-2-1 (4), #125 ¾, of Oak Hills, PA, over 6 rounds.

Scores were 58-56 and 57-57 twice.
Super Feather Daniel Garcia, 2-0 (2), #128 ¾, of Westminster, CO, knocked out Gabe Sandoval, 1-1 (1), #130, of Las Cruces, NM, in the second round of a scheduled 4 rounds.

Super Bantam Rajon Chance, 5-0 (5), #122, of East Orange, NJ, knocked out Marco Lara, 0-2 (0), #119 ¾, of Memphis, TN, at 1:32 of the first of a scheduled 4 rounds.

In the first round Lar’s corner stopped fight forcing referee Ray Corona to halt the fight.

Lightweight Anthony Cuba, 2-0-1 (1), #134 ½, of Fontana, CA, won a majority decision over William Flenoy, 0-2 (0), #133, of Fresno, CA, 4 rounds.

Scores were 40-36, 38-38 and 39-37.
