Logan Paul wants rematch with Mayweather

By Sean Jones: Logan Paul says he’s interested in a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr after the two fought an eight-round exhibition last Sunday that had no winner on Showtime pay-per-view. Logan, 26, says he might be able to knock out Mayweather Jr (50-0, 27 KOs) next time they fight.

You can’t rule out Mayweather giving the popular Logan Paul a rematch, particularly if ends up making $100 million from the fight after the PPV numbers are tabulated.

The money that Mayweather can make in a second fight with Logan will be too tempting for him to pass up. Other than Logan’s brother Jake Paul, there aren’t any great options for Mayweather.

That could change if UFC president Dana White let Mayweather fight some of the big names with his organization. A rematch between Mayweather and Conor McGregor would sell if they can make the fight soon before the 44-year-old Floyd gets much older.

Before Logan can get a rematch, Mayweather could be facing Jake Paul next in an exhibition. Although Jake (3-0, 3 KOs) says he wants the fight with Mayweather to count on his record, it’s not possible due to the difference in weight and experience between them.

There are no state commissions that would sanction a fight between a 150+ lb Mayweather and a 190+ lb Jake. The only way the fight can happen is by an exhibition.

Did Floyd let Logan Paul survive?

“I’m going to go home thinking, ‘Did Floyd let me survive?'” said Logan Paul.

“Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul 2? I don’t know, let me get a little better. Maybe I can end it next time.”

Logan didn’t say who he wants to fight to help him prepare for a rematch with Mayweather.

There are no top-tier professional boxers that would be safe to match Logan against because he would likely lose against anyone from the 140 to 200-lb weight classes.

It’s doubtful that Logan could even beat a top 135-lb fighter like Teofimo Lopez, Vasily Lomachenko, Gervonta Davis, or Ryan Garcia. That tells you how far the 44-year-old Mayweather has slipped as a fighter.

Logan needs to fight a couple of journeyman fighters to help him get ready for Mayweather. It’s useless for Logan to fight another YouTuber like KSI or MMA guy because those fighters don’t possess the boxing skills to help him improve in the real sense.

Sure, Logan’s confidence and bank account will likely soar beating KSI or an MMA guy, but he’s not going to learn enough to beat Mayweather.

Mayweather: Logan is better than I thought

“I had fun. You’ve got to realize I’m not 21 anymore,” Mayweather said Showtime Sport after his fight with Logan. “But it’s good to move around with these young guys. Test my skills. Just to have some fun.

He’s better than I thought he was,” Mayweather continued about Paul. “I was surprised by him tonight. He knew how to use his weight and he knew how to tie me up tonight.”
