Deontay Wilder still believes Tyson Fury cheated last year in their rematch

By William Lloyd: Deontay Wilder is totally convinced that Tyson Fury cheated to win in their rematch last year in February. It’s been 16 months since Wilder was dethroned by ‘The Gypsy King’ Fury last year, and he’s still bitter about it and highly resentful.

Wilder feels that Fury had to cheat for him to beat him because he couldn’t do it naturally.

The former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs) believes something was wrong with Fury’s gloves that night because they were bending in a way they shouldn’t have.

Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) will be meeting for a third time on July 24th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

If Wilder does believe Fury cheated, this would be an excellent chance to make sure that his gloves get checked out before the fight and are cleared by his team. Also, it would be a good idea for Wilder not to wear a heavy ring walk costume because that could affect his performance.

Lastly, if Wilder is worried about Fury hitting him with rabbit punches, he should advise the referee before the fight to keep an eye on that.

If a referee is doing nothing to police the fouls, one way to embarrass him is to start using the same tactics. It makes a referee look bad if he’s seen as having lost all control of the fight.

Wilder talks about Fury’s gloves

“They saw no evil, they heard it, and then didn’t speak it,” said Wilder to Premier Boxing Champions about Fury’s gloves for their fight last year. “When you asked them about the gloves, ‘Well, I don’t know.’

“You can’t not see that. Gloves do not bend. Your wrist can’t bend unless your double-jointed or something. How the hell does it bend at a 90-degree angle.

“It doesn’t keep a fold in space, nor does it have loose space in it. It’s impossible. The way the world and a lot of people in boxing did this [Wilder covers his ears, eyes, and mouth] right here, I’m doing that to everybody [Wilder flips the bird],” said Wilder.

Deontay seems to believe that Fury’s gloves became so loose that he was getting hit by his knuckles. Again, this is something that Wilder’s team should have caught in the dressing room before the fight when Fury was being taped up.

Deontay says Fury is a known cheater

“Look, they couldn’t even knock me out under that ju-ju. I was under some ju-ju, and they [Fury] couldn’t even knock me out,” Wilder said.

“They couldn’t even keep me down. Like I said, it took a disloyal trainer [Mark Breland] to throw the towel in. We know he [Fury] don’t have no power.

“He gave me the best in him in that ring, and I took it all. I knew what was going on with my body. I felt it when the mask came off.

“I knew something was wrong with me. I knew I was not right. He [Fury] has got a rap sheet for cheating. He’s got a rap sheet of abusing drugs.

“But you talk about a guy like me that don’t got a rap sheet or nothing, that just got pure power, pure worth ethic, but I’m lying? But you got a guy that is known for cheating, and he’s telling the truth?

“I know what I can do. They [Fury] knew it too, so they had to find something to slow me down. They had to find something.

“You see, they thought they were going to take me out in the second or third round, but that voodoo joodoo gumbo soup didn’t work. So they had to use my trainer,” said Wilder.

I guess it will be a long promotion for this fight with Wilder doing most of the talking. If Fury chooses not to speak during the build-up, Wilder will make him look bad with the stuff he’s saying.
