Boxing Results: Naoya “Monster” Inoue Stops Michael “Hot & Spicy” Dasmarinas in 3!

By Ken Hissner: At the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, Las Vegas, NV, Saturday, Bob Arum – Top Rank, over ESPN+ and ESPN presented WBA Super World and IBF World Bantamweight champion Naoya “Monster” Inoue of Japan defended his titles stopping WBA No. 8 and IBF No. 1 ranked Michael “Hot & Spicy” Dasmarinas of the Philippines in 3 rounds.

In the co-feature, WBO World Female World Super Featherweight champion Mikaela Mayer defended her title, defeating Erica Anabella Farias over 10 rounds.

In the Main Event former 2-division champion, WBA & IBF Bantamweight champion Naoya “Monster” Inoue, 21-0 (18), #118, of Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan, stopped top contender southpaw Michael “Hot & Spicy” Dasmarinas, 30-3-1 (20), #117.4, of Bangar La Union, PH, scoring 3 knockdowns at 2:45 of the third round of a scheduled 12 rounds.

In the second round, a left hook from Inoue to the liver of Dasmarinas drove him into the ropes, dropping him for a delayed knockdown 8-count from referee Russell Mora. In the third round, a pair of body shots dropped Dasmarinas twice, forcing referee Mora to wave it off.

In the co-feature WBO World Female World Super Featherweight champion Mikaela Mayer, 15-0 (5), #129.8, of Colorado Springs, CO, defeated former two-division world champion Erica Anabellas Farias, 26-5 (10), #128.2, of San Fernando, Bueno Aires, ARG, over 10 rounds.

In the first five rounds, Mayer kept coming forward with an effective jab with rights following had the edge taking all but the second round. In the seventh round, Farias came back having her best round of the fight, though, a close one.

In the ninth round, Mayer had the face of Farias well marked up. In the tenth and final round, Mayer closed out the fight well on the offense.

Scores were 97-93 and 98-92 twice as well as this writer. The referee was Mike Ortega.

Featherweight Adam “Blunose” Lopez, 15-3 (6), #126, of Glendale, CA, lost by majority decision to former WBO Super Bantam champion Isaac “Royal Storm” Dogboe, 22-2 (15), #125.4, of GH and Tampa, FL, over 10 exciting rounds.

In the first five rounds, Dogboe outworked Lopez for the most part 3-2. In the eighth round, Lopez landed an uppercut hurting Dogboe, having him backing up the entire round.

In the ninth round, Lopez had Dogboe in trouble trying for a needed knockout landing uppercuts. In the tenth and final round, both fighters let it all hang out, with both fighters trying to pull out the round and the fight.

Scores were 97-93, 96-94, and 95-95, as did this writer. Referee was Celestino Ruiz.

Super Lightweight Olympian Lindolfo Delgado, 12-0 (11), #141.6, of Monterrey, MEX, defeated Salvador “Chavita Bufon” Briceno, 17-7 (11), #141.2, of Guadalajara, MEX, over 8 rounds.

In the first four rounds, Delgado outworked Briceno. In the eighth and final round, Delgado had Briceno hurt and holding on to the bell.

Scores were 80-72 and 79-73, twice as was this writer’s score.
