By Dan Ambrose: Danny Garcia is in self-isolation at his house guarding against the coronavirus and waiting to see if he gets a fight against Errol Spence Jr. or Manny Pacquiao this summer. Spence (26-0, 21 KOs) has already mentioned Gacia’s name as someone that he’s interested in next when he returns to the ring in July.
The main hold up for Garia (36-2, 21 KOs) getting the IBF/WBC welterweight champion Spence is the coronavirus. None of the States in the U.S is about to let a boxing event of any athletic event take place right now that involves a large crowd.
Garcia hasn’t held a world title since losing his WBC welterweight title to Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman in 2017. He needs the opportunity to fight for a belt against Spence or Pacquiao.
Errol Spence’s car crash erased a fight against Danny Garcia
Spence’s car crash last October messed things up for former two-division world champion Garcia. He was supposed to fight Spence on Fox Sports pay-per-view last January. That fight would have made Danny a lot of money, and it would have potentially given his career a boost.
Garcia had a real chance of beating Spence had that fight talent place. The good news is Spence still wants to fight Garcia, but he just needs the coronavirus to disappear.
Garcia’s chances of fighting WBA welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao aren’t so good right now. Pacquiao is expected to take on Miky Garcia next in Saudi Arabia in the summer. Unless Pacquiao changed his mind about the Mikey fight, then Danny is out of luck.

“The Spence fight can happen in the summertime and the Pacquiao fight can happen in the summertime,” said Garcia on his social media site. “So we’re just waiting.
“We’re trying to get this coronavirus thing, and hopefully, we can start making some announcements. I got a cough. I swear I ain’t got the coronavirus. I’ve been at the crib for seven days straight,” said Garcia.
Spence is still looking kind of fat for someone that is supposed to be fighting in July. If Spence is serious about wanting to fight Danny Garcia, then he needs to lose weight. Spence has got enough time to get in shape, but he needs to get in the gym.
The Coronavirus is what could get in the way of Danny getting a fight against Spence or Garcia in 2021.
Garcia is coming off of a 12 round unanimous decision over Ivan Redkach on January 25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The slow pace that Garcia fought resulted in Redkach being able to last the full 12 rounds against him.
