Frank Warren BURSTS Joshua’s bubble: “Wilder and Tyson are tied into two fights”

By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury’s promoter Frank Warren spoke up today to let Anthony Joshua know that ‘The Gypsy King’ is under contract for two fights against WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. Joshua is not going to be able to throw a curveball to get in between them to fight the winner later this year.

Joshua (23-1, 21 KOs) recently won back his IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight titles from Andy Ruiz Jr. last December, and he’s IMPATIENT to try and get his hands on the highly prestigious WBC belt held by Deontay.

Rather than be patient until Wilder and Fury fight two more times in 2020, Joshua is talking about wanting to fight the winner of their February 22 rematch. Mr. Warren is letting Joshua know that isn’t going to happen.

Wilder and Tyson are tied into two fights. Joshua knows full well he’s talking nonsense,” said Warren to metro.co.uk.  “Is he trying to con the public? Joshua will say anything at this stage. Why did he say he’d spar with Tyson? He never had any intention of doing that either.”

So there it is. Joshua WON’T be fighting the winner of the Wilder-Fury 2 rematch, and it’s very, very odd that AJ was talking about him getting the winner.

Warren points out that Joshua has 2020 booked up in fights against IBF mandatory Kubrat Pulev and WBO mandatory Oleksandr Usyk. If Joshua wins both of those fights, and if Fury defeats Deontay x 2, and emerges as the WBC champion after 2020, then a fight between Tyson and AJ is possible in 2021. But in the meantime, Fury and Wilder will be busy fighting each other.

Joshua has a full plate, but he’s already looking for more than what’s in front of him. When you become a glutton, it’s not good. It’s painfully obvious that Joshua has become spoiled. Joshua needs to take care of what’s in front of him this year, and hope that he still has all three of his world titles still in his possession when 2020 ends.

“I categorically say Anthony Joshua didn’t meet with any of Deontay Wilder’s team,” said Warren. “When I saw his comments, I immediately rang Shelly Finkel and he had no idea what Joshua was talking about. It’s just all rubbish. The bottom line is, they can have 10,000 meetings, but all three fighters are already under contract.

“Joshua has got to beat Kubrat Pulev and Oleksandr Usyk! The big concern is Joshua has been wobbled by his recent opponents.,” said Warren.

It’s not just Joshua’s recent opponents that had him wobbled. Heck, Wladimir Klitschko and Dillian Whyte both had Joshua staggering like a drunken sailor on Saturday night in their fights with him. Joshua was lucky to get out of the Wladimir fight without being knocked out.

If Wladimir hadn’t made the insane decision to let Joshua survive after knocking him down in the 6th, he would have easily finished him off in the 7th. Joshua was so hurt, Wladimir could have knocked him out with a feather.
