Tyson Fury trashes Deontay Wilder’s resume

By Scott Gilfoid: An amped up sounding Tyson Fury went nuclear on Wednesday in blasting WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder’s career resume, saying that he’s the only good opponent he’s ever faced in his 11 years in the ring. Fury claims that Wilder’s family and trainer know that he lost to him in their fight last year.

Tyson, 31, is more than a little hypocritical in criticizing Wilder’s opposition, when his hasn’t been any better.

These are the best guys that Fury has fought:

  • Wladimir Klitschko [40-years-old]
  • Otto Wallin
  • Dereck Chisora x 2
  • Steve Cunningham
  • Christian Hammer
  • Francesco Pianeta
  • Tom Schwarz
  • Deontay Wilder

When you take Wilder out of the equation, Fury has fought nobody. Wladimir was 40-years-old, and completely shot to pieces. That wasn’t Wladimir that Fury beat in 2015. That was the SHELL of Wladimir.

Here’s Wilder’s best opponents:

  • Tyson Fury
  • Dominic Breazeale
  • Luis Ortiz x 2
  • Bermane Stiverne x 2
  • Chris Arreola
  • Johann Duhaupas
  • Eric Molina
  • Artur Szpilka
  • Gerald Washington

It’s painfully obvious that Wilder has the better resume than Fury, and you can’t argue againt that. Luis Ortiz would likely beat everyone that Fury has fought during his career.

Fury criticizes Wilder’s opposition

“This is a special message from Tyson Fury to Deontay Wilder,” said Fury on his Instagram. “He goes around and says he fights all the best heavyweights, but Dominic Breazeale isn’t the best heavyweight and neither is Luis Ortiz. Dominic Breazeale is average at best, and the other guys Luis Ortiz is 145 years-old, and somebody you already knocked out, you bum.

“You’ve only fought one good man in your career, and that’s me, and I beat you,” said Fury. “Everybody in the world knows you lost to ‘The Gypsy King,’ a Gypsy King that had been out of the ring for 3 years, and still beat you on 50 percent. You’ll get busted next time I hit you. I’ll have everything I got that I beat you, dosser. I’m not afraid of you or bothered by you. And you know you lost, your trainer, your wife, and your kids. They all know the Gypsy King bettered you. Coming for you, p—-.”

This is sad how Fury is reaching for anything to try and boost his sagging self confidence. His fragile self confidence is so shaky that he’s resorted to criticizing Wilder’s opposition, and forgetting that his far worse.

For the record, Fury (29-0-1, 20 KOs) failed to get the job done in getting dropped hard twice by Deontay last December, and getting a lucky break when the referee Jack Reiss didn’t stop the fight in the 12th. Wilder knocked Fury unconscious, but Reiss played it old school in giving a count to the Gypsy King.

Is the pressure getting to Fury?

Fury is starting to sound like the pressure of having to face Wilder again is beginning to get to him mentally. He’s been acting nervous lately, and he could be worried about getting knocked out again by Wilder. Obviously, it was no fun for Fury to get knocked cold by Wilder last year.

Fury’s promoters at Top Rank have been extra careful since then in putting him in with weak punchers in Otto Wallin and Tom Schwarz. Was this by accident that Top Rank matched Fury against 2 fighters with no punching power? I doubt it. They were careful with Fury, and that they didn’t take any risks with him.

Fury was lucky to get a draw against Wilder

It clearly still bothers Fury that he wasn’t given the win against Deontay, but how could he? He was knocked down TWICE, and the punch stats were basically even in every round. Wilder landed the harder shots in every round of the fight, and the judges were bent over backwards to give Fury rounds that should have arguably gone to Wilder.

Gilfoid had Wilder winning the right 9 rounds to 3, and it could have been worse than that. The judges were more impressed with how Fury was making Wilder miss a lot with his right hand. It didnt matter though, because he was still landing his shots, but at a lower percentage. When Wilder did land, it was always with tremedous power.
