Terence Crawford not optimistic about getting Errol Spence fight

By Chris Williams:  Terence Crawford said on social media that Errol Spence Jr. is the one that’s holding up their fight from getting made. He says he thinks the Spence will fight him in year 2999.  In other words, Crawford doesn’t see himself EVER getting a fight against the unbeaten Spence.

Crawford (36-0, 27 KOs) is kind of forgetting that IBF/WBC welterweight champion Spence (26-0, 21 KOs) was just involved in a big car crash on October 10, and he’s lucky to be alive. It’s a bad look on Terence’s part going to social media looking to complain about Spence not fighting him.

Crawford blaming Spence for not fighting

“Him,” Crawford said on his social media ite when asked what’s holding up a fight between him and Spence from happening. “2999,” said Crawford when asked when the Spence fight will take place. “When ever he ready.”

Spence is going to need time to recover from his car crash, because he was ejected from the vehicle while it was traveling at a high speed. While it would obviously be convenient for Crawford to fight Spence while he’s not at 100%, it’s not going to happen.

Spence’s management at Premier Boxing Champions are going to wait until he’s fully healed, if he ever is, before they consider letting him fight Crawford.

Terence explains why he’s not fighting PBC fighters

“Idk I keep hearing I’m scared,” said Crawford in response someone asked when he’ll fight the PBC fighters. “Who ever I needed to to become undisputed 3 weight champion need I say more,” said Crawford.

The reason why boxing fans are saying that Crawford is SCARED of fighting PBC fighters is because ht turned down a fight against Shawn Porter recently. It’s peculiar to fans why Crawford, a fighter that has been eager to fight PBC guys, would turn down a fight against Porter.

Could it be that the performance that Porter put in against Spence last September has Crawford afraid? After all, Porter gave Spence all he could handle, and almsot beat him.

The other reason why fans think Crawford is afraid of PBC fighters is because he chose to re-up with Top Rank recently rather than moving on. Bud Crawford could have signed with PBC, and then put himself in position to fight all of these lions:

  • Errol Spence Jr.
  • Keith Thurman
  • Danny Garcia
  • Shawn Porter
  • Manny Pacquiao
  • Yordenis Ugas

Crawford not impressed by Gervonta Davis’ win over Gamboa

“Wasn’t impressed,” Crawford said on Gervonta Davis’ win over Yuriorkis Gamboa. “Never that just call it how I see it.”

The fighter that Crawford mentions with 12 losses that stopped Gamboa is Robinson Castellanos (24-14, 14 KOs), and he beat him in 2017. Gamboa wasn’t at his best when he took the fight with Castellanos, and it’s likely that he would beat him now if he were trained and uninjured

Tank Davis did what he had to do in order to beat Gamboa, and he didn’t rush it. Crawford sounds like he thinks Gervonta (23-0, 22 KOs) should have knocked Gamboa out earlier in the fight, but he wasn’t trying to press it. The way that Tank turned it on in the 12th to get the knockout, he could have done that in any round of the fight,

“Yeah after he just won a belt a lightweight hun? Y’all kill me,” said Crawford in defending his choice of fighting Gamboa in 2014.

It’s definitely true that when Crawford fought Gamboa in 2014, he wasn’t the same fighter that captured 2 world titles at featherweight in 2009 and 2010.

Crawford rates Amir Khan as a good fighter

“Is that right? He was good at the time we fought😂And he might beat both right now,” said Crawford on Amir Khan.
