By Scott Gilfoid: As I predicted, Tyson Fury has come out of the woodwork to blast former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko for him smothering IBF/WBA champion Anthony Joshua with love by saying Joshua is ”hands down the world’s best heavyweight” at the Websumit earlier this week.

As soon as Wladimir praised Joshua as the king of the heavyweight division, I figured it wouldn’t before he smoked out Fury from his resting place to come firing with both barrels with some criticism aimed towards the Ukrainian star. I mean, you can understand it from Fury’s point of view though. Wladimir is crowning Joshua as the best guy when he almost beat him earlier this year in their fight on April 29 at Wembley Stadium in London, UK.

The fight was there to be had for the 41-year-old Wladimir after he knocked Joshua to the floor in round 6, and had him fighting on fumes form the 6th until the 10th Joshua didn’t look like the best heavyweight in the division in that fight. He looked more like a guy that was allowed to survive only because Wladimir showed mercy on him by not going for the couple de grace.

Fury whipped Wladimir 2 years ago by a 12 round unanimous decision in Dusseldorf, Germany. It’s pretty obvious that Fury did a better job beating Wladimir than Joshua did. It doesn’t take a genius to know that. The way that Wladimir overlooked Fury in giving Joshua praise as being the best heavyweight in the division seemed to be a slight on the 6’9” fighter.

Wladimir can’t say that Joshua is the best fighter in the heavyweight division when he had him down on the canvas and badly hurt last April. If the fight had taken place years ago and Joshua had showed improvement since then, it would make sense for Wladimir to give him credit for being the best heavyweight in the division. It was only 7 months ago, and Joshua looked almost as bad in his last fight against Carlos Takam on October 28. Joshua seems to be getting worse than better in my view.

Here’s what Fury said to Wladimir today on his social media site:

“Wladimir, I don’t get why you’re so bitter about your loss to The Gypsy King,” Fury begins his letter. “[You’re] always banging on about you loss to AJ & how great he is, at the end of the day, you lost to AJ by TKO in what was a 50/50 fight right ’til the end. In our fight you couldn’t land any punches & I made you miss & I really played games in there. But yet you say AJ is better, I know you won’t admit it the truth to the world but in your mind you know the truth, so does Vitali! I wouldn’t expect anything more from you guys. But deep down you know what happened in there, and by the way, I’m going to deal with your little brother AJ in the same fashion as I dealt with you, play with the *****. Kind regards the champ Tyson2fastFury.

“P.S: I’ll be haunting your nightmares forever, Dr. Klitschko, and you will always know that you could never have beat the fat gypsy.”

So there it is. Fury says he’s Wladimir’s worst nightmare, and there’s not much can be done about that. Of course, Wladimir can always come out of retirement and look to whip Fury in a rematch if he wants to give him his just desserts. The way Wladimir is sounding content with his retirement; I’m not holding my breath waiting for him to come back for round 2 against Fury. I don’t think Wladimir wants any part of Fury.
