By Iftisaam Khan: With there yet to be announcement regarding his next opponent, International Boxing Federation heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua looks to take on Wladamir Klitschko in a mega, blockbuster fight at the end of this coming year on December 10 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. Having been originally touted with potential bouts with the likes of Kubrat Pulev and Joseph Parker it may come as a surprise to many boxing fans with the fight coming so early.

With Heavyweight Champion, Tyson Fury having been stripped of his titles, it has landed Joshua a potential fight with arguably one of the best heavyweights in the past decade as well as chance of adding another belt to his collection. Something which you just can’t turn down.

Looking at the 27-year old Joshua’s short venture into the boxing world, some may say it’s too early to be mixing it with the likes of Klitschko at this early stage of his career.

Having knocked out every opponent in front of him (17-0, 17 KOs) Joshua has showed just why he’s been touted for great things in the future and his record certainly justifies his step up into the unknown.

The only cause for concern is the lack of quality opponents Joshua’s fought against, with Dillian Whyte being the only fighter that’s asked real questions of Joshua’s ability. A more logical route for the unbeaten boxer would have been a showdown with the dangerous Joseph Parker (21-21-0) who is also looking to step up his level of opponent, however, AJ looks to have his eyes firmly set on a mega money fight with the ‘Sledgehammer’ beaconing over his shoulder.

With the veteran fighter (64-4, 53 KOs) having come off a shock defeat to Tyson Fury, some may say it’s the best time for Joshua to capitalize on the 40 year old Klitschko’s low confidence, with his form on a noticeable decline. There will be many doubters lingering about the Britain’s chances but he will be certainly looking to put that to sleep that’s for sure.
