By Scott Gilfoid: It’s sad how many gullible people in the media actually BELIEVED WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury when he said he was retiring from boxing earlier on Monday. I understand what makes Fury tick, so I didn’t buy it for a second. Sure enough, I was right. Fury came out and said he’s NOT retiring. He then taunted the people in the media for them reacting so quickly in thinking he actually retired. Gilfoid didn’t believe it for a second. I know better.

Fury said this on his social mediate site just minutes ago:

”Hahahaha u think you will get rid of the GYPSYKING that easy!!! I’m here to stay. #TheGreatest just shows u what the Medea are like. Tut tut.”

So there it is. Fury is NOT retiring. It’s just so, so sad that people in the media act like sheep when they get news from Fury. I didn’t believe it for a second. There’s still a lot of sweet cash for Fury to make before he gets out of boxing. There’s no way he’s going to leave without getting that loot. Fury has a lot of meaningful fights ahead of him before he retires. I suspect that Fury needed to recharge his energy pack by taking a vacation from boxing. Once he’s gotten that out of his system, he’ll regain his motivation and look to get the big money fights against one of the top names. I’m not sure that a rematch with Wladimir will be Fury’s top priority when he comes back. It’s more likely we’ll see him fight Joshua followed by Deontay. Wladimir would be the third choice if he’s still around by the time Fury resurfaces.

Fury will retire one of these days, but not until he’s made his money first. Fury can walk with tens of millions before he retires. No way is he going to retire now before he’s picked up all that cash from the table. Yeah, Fury has been getting dumped on by the media and from some boxing fans. But all that loot that he’ll get from fighting Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Wladimir Klitschko will help him soothe whatever hurt feelings he has from the things people say about him.

Fury said this earlier on Monday:

”Boxing is the saddest thing I ever took part in, all a pile of s***, I’m the greatest and I’m also retired.”

I saw the message from Fury and didn’t think he was serious even for a second. He was just having fun today. He was probably bored out of his mind, so he decided to stir up the media like kicking a hornet’s nest to see what happens.

Fury is going to take care of his problems one by one, and then look to get back into the ring within a year or so. That’s how I see it. My guess is Fury will be back inside the ring by late 2017 if not earlier. Fury will be welcomed with open arms, and he’ll be able to make a TON of sweet cash fighting Deontay, Joshua or Wladimir.

Fury is still only 28-years-old, so he’s not going to retire at the height of fame. He’s just now accomplished something with his pro career in whipping Wladimir last November. What’s going on now with his issues is little more than a bump in the road with his career. They’re not going to keep Fury out of the ring permanently, because they can’t keep him from making a living in the sport. Besides, boxing needs Fury. Joshua ‘s fights are such dull mismatches, and he doesn’t have much to say to the media when interviewed. He’s obviously a nice guy, but he lacks the gift of gab that Fury has going for him.

Fury pulled out of his rematch with Wladimir that was scheduled for October 29. For Fury, it was the second time that he’d left Wladimir standing there without his rematch. Wladimir wanted to try and avenge his loss to Fury from 2015, but that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. I think we’ll never see the two fight again, because I see Wladimir’s career imploding once he faces Joshua or Joseph Parker. When Fury does get back into the ring, Wladimir might not even be fighting, because I can’t see him continuing his career if/when he gets knocked out by Parker of Joshua. A knockout loss to either of those fighters would surely signal the end for Wladimir. If he continues to fight after getting beaten by either of them, then I don’t know where he could go. Maybe Wladimir could target Deontay Wilder, but I sure as heck can’t see him beating a talent like him. As such, I doubt that a rematch between Fury and Wladimir will ever take place.

Fury is about to be stripped of his WBA and WBO heavyweight titles following the allegations that he tested positive for cocaine. It remains to be seen what will happen with that issue. Even if Fury does get stripped of his titles, he’ll still be able to come back and make huge money in trying to win them back. At this point, Fury is larger than those titles. The belts don’t really matter. Those are trinkets.
