By Scott Gilfoid: #6 WBC heavyweight contender Bryant Jennings says he’s willing to step in and replace Wladimir Klitschko as the next opponent for IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua to fight on December 10 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

The World Boxing Association is expected to rule today whether they’ll be sanctioning the Joshua vs. Klitschko fight for December 10. If they don’t sanction it, then the 40-year-old Klitschko intends on going in another direction towards perhaps a fight against Lucas “Big Daddy” Browne on December 10 for the vacant World Boxing Association title.

Jennings (19-2, 10 KOs) has run into a patch of bad luck recently with him suffering back to back losses to Luis “King Kong” Ortiz and Klitschko in his last two fights. However, remains an incredibly talented fighter with amazing boxing skills, good power, and long arms that he can use to foil the heavily muscled Joshua. Jennings is still ranked in the top 10, albeit with the WBC rather than the IBF.

“I will fight Anthony Joshua sometime in the future period,” Jennings said to skysports.com. “Upon whatever circumstances we fall upon, December 10? That’s possible. I’m going to say that’s possible.”

So there it is. Jennings is more than willing to jump in there and take on the 6’6” Joshua on December 10 in a mouthwatering fight for the British boxing public. It goes without saying that Jennings would be a step up for Joshua from the guys he’s been facing recently in Dominic Breazeale, Charles Martin and Dillian Whyte. Those guys didn’t put in much of an effort against Joshua in terms of throwing shots.

Jennings, 32, would absolutely test Joshua’s chin from the start to the finish of the fight. Jennings gave Oriz, 6’4”, all he could handle in his last fight in December 2015 before getting knocked out in the 7th. At the time of the stoppage, Jennings appeared to be getting the better of Ortiz and was wearing down the 37-year-old Cuban fighter.

In his fight against Wladimir in 2015, Jennings gave him all kinds of problems with his pressure. Wladimir was forced to get on his bike and move around the ring to keep from taking punishment. We don’t know what would have happened if Wladimir had stood and traded with Jennings. Joshua doesn’t have the wheels to move away from Jennings. Joshua would be forced to trade with the talented Jennings. It might end badly for big Joshua.
