On The Rise
Hatton Promotions, in association with Black Country Boxing, are back at Walsall Football Club for the new boxing season as they co-promote a six-fight show in the Stadium Suite at the Banks’s Stadium on Friday, 2nd September.
‘On The Rise’, sponsored by Grosvenor Casino Walsall, features a dozen undefeated boxers who are all looking to make big statements in 2016.
Unbeaten Halesowen super middleweight, Lennox Clarke (12-0), tops the bill as he looks to continue his knock-out form. The 25 year-old has fought three times already this year, recording two first-round knock-outs along the way. Clarke has set his sights on a ‘meaningful title’ this year and has recently secured a top 20 position in the British rankings.
Ricky Hatton trained duo Nathan Gorman (4-0) and Reuben Arrowsmith (6-0) provide Chief Support. Nantwich’s Gorman warms up for his Central Area Heavyweight Title clash with David Howe, slated for October, whilst Market Harborough welterweight Arrowsmith will be looking to build on his impressive recent stoppage of Latvian Viktors Drizlionoks.
Tewksbury middleweight, Adam Harper (5-0), is also back in action. ‘The Hurricane’ put in a career best performance in his hometown last weekend to defeat Lithuanian Deividas Sajauka and claim the International Challenge Middleweight Title.
Old Hill lightweight, Manny Zaber (7-0), who featured alongside Harper in Tewksbury, is also back in action as he eyes up an all Midlands showdown against Black Country rival, Les Byfield, later in the year.
Completing the card is former Kickboxing World Champion, Kyle Williams (2-0). The Wolverhampton bantamweight has made a seamless switch from kickboxing and will be looking to record a third straight professional boxing victory.
Standard tickets for On The Rise, priced at £30, are available by calling the boxers. £60 VIP tickets for tables of ten, with two-course meal, are available by calling Walsall FC Box Office on 01922 651 414/416.
The weigh-in and aftershow take place at Grosvenor Casino Walsall, Bentley Mill Way, Walsall WS2 0LE (just off junction 10 of the M6). Grosvenor Casino Walsall will have a presence at the Town Hall on the evening and have linked up with local taxi firm, Yellow Taxi’s, to supply a number of free taxi’s to take guests from the Town Hall to the casino post-fight.
