UK Boxing: Ryan Farrag, Jazza Dickens, Pauly Upton

Ryan Farrag and Jazza Dickens at MGM Marbella this week

MGM´s Ryan Farrag and Jazza Dickens are both enjoying a week-long training session at MGM this week ahead of their EBU fights on 4th June.

Farrag will be defending his European bantamweight title against former champion Karim Guerfi and Dickens will be fighting for the vacant European super bantamweight against Abigail Medina.

Both lads have been enjoying the sessions on offer at MGM and putting in the work to get them ready for June. They have both been accompanied by coach Paul from the Everton Red triangle and have been working with Jamie Conlan and Tyrone McKenna who are also getting ready for big fights. Together they have all been creating the perfect training environment to get focused and disciplined. MGM gym comes into it´s own in these situations, it is the place to be to get mind and body ready for a fight.

“I´m having a good time here at MGM,” said Dickens “the time out has been valuable towards my preparation. I´m a family man and I miss Liverpool and my family but it´s good to come away and switch on mentally. There is a nice vibe around the place, everyone is welcoming and supportive and they have all the facilities. The 4th June is a big night for me and Ryan; a European title is a huge achievement and I look forward to putting on a great performance in my home city.”

The praise for the training facilities was echoed by Farrag, “I´m privileged to be training at MGM for the start of my camp. I´ve had some great sparring with Jamie Conlan and training is going very well. I am looking forward to getting back in the ring so soon after my last fight.”

MGM are delighted to have them here and support them in any way they can.

MGM´s Pauly Upton is fighting on Saturday night over ten rounds for the vacant Irish middleweight title. The fight is taking place in Northampton against Terry Maughan and is Pauly´s first title fight and his first since November when he beat Zoltan Turai for his 11th straight win in the pro ranks.

Pauly is ready and thinks he is in with the very best chance of winning, “Training has gone great,” he said “I have worked harder for this fight more than any others as it´s my first ten rounder. I think it will go as planned and that´s a win for me whether on points or KO and me picking up the Irish title.”
