MGM sign Management Contract with Martin Murray

MGM are very pleased to announce their latest signing with highly regarded super-middleweight Martin Murray. The former British, Commonwealth, WBC Silver and WBA interim middleweight champion, and four-time world title challenger has signed a management contract with MGM.

Set to be a world champion Murray has not had luck on his side. In November he suffered his fourth controversial world title defeat to Arthur Abraham in Germany and Murray had previously been denied world titles at middleweight by Felix Sturm in Germany back in 2011 (split draw), Sergio Martinez in Argentina in 2013 (unanimous decision) and Gennady Golovkin in Monaco in February 2015 (11th round stoppage). Murray is now concentrating closer to home for a while and targeting a big domestic fight in the super-middleweight division.

“I am really happy and excited to be signed with MGM,” said Murray “I have been manager free for a while and along with my good friend and business advisor Andrew Mikhail we decided that the time had come for someone to take control of my management. I first met Daniel when I visited MGM in 2011 and we became friends, he has always offered me advice and tried to help me and I have friends who are signed with MGM and they all say how good it is and how well they are treated.

I’m at the stage in my career when I need that guidance to keep me at the highest level and get me the right deals. With the respect and connections that MGM have got I really feel that they are the team to do that for me. I´m really looking forward to the future.”

MGM Management are delighted to have signed Martin Murray. “We believe he will be a world champion no doubt about it,” they said “it´s not a question of if, just when and that’s what we are going to make happen. He was robbed against Felix Sturm, should’ve got the decision against Sergio Martinez, went eleven rounds with Golovkin and was unlucky versus Arthur Abraham. It’s just a matter of time. What’s more he is also a nice guy, a proper family man and someone who we can’t wait to work alongside.”

Martin trains in Salford Manchester with Oliver Harrison, “We will be coming over to train at MGM soon though” said Murray. With yet another promising talent joining the stable 2016 is looking to be a very exciting year for #TeamMGM.
