Chudinov says Buglioni is too easy to hit

chudinov6By Scott Gilfoid: WBA “regular” super middleweight champion Fedor Chudinov (13-0, 10 KOs) figures to make easy work of #4 WBA Frank Buglioni (17-1-1, 13 KOs) in their fight in 12 days from now on September 26th on BoxNation from the Wembley Arena in London, UK. Chudinov, 27, has seen some of the 26-year-old Buglioni’s fights like his recent 6th round knockout loss to Sergey Khomitsky last year in April 2014, and he believes he’s going to be too easy to hit and obviously very easy for him to knockout in this fight.

The hard hitting Chudinov is coming off of an impressive 12 round decision win over 36-year-old former middleweight world champion Felix Sturm last May in Sturm’s home country of Frankfurt, Germany. Chudinov had too much power and too high of a work rate for Sturm to handle in that fight.

It’s hard to deny that Buglioni is easy to hit. When you look at his loss to Sergey Khomitsky in 2014, and his gift 10 round draw against Lee Markham last May, it’s difficult to see Buglioni doing well in this fight.

The problem with Buglioni is he’s pretty much nothing more than a pot shot fighter with average but not great power. His punch resistance isn’t good either and that’s going to be a big problem for him.

“When you look at Buglioni fight he is far too easy to hit, Sergey Khomitsky smashed him inside six rounds, I have a far higher knockout percentage and I deliver much harder punches, he’ll be knocked out.”

Buglioni’s offense is his defense. When he’s throwing a lot of shots, he doesn’t need to worry about incoming fire. But he’s not able to block anything because he can’t block shots to save his life.

Unless Buglioni can get on his bike and run from Chudinov for the full 12 rounds, I don’t see this fight going to well for him. Buglioni is a pot shot guy, and the only way he’ll have any chance of beating a high volume puncher like Chudinov is to either KO him with one of his pot shots, or run from him for the full 12 rounds and hope that he can land enough pot shots to get the victory. I don’t see that happening though because Chudinov is so good at cutting off the ring.

“I will set an incredible pace for Buglioni that he cannot match. I have the strength and power to remove him when I’m ready,” Chudinov said. “Groves is finished and Buglioni will be finished, then I want to conquer Britain. What British fighters are left? James DeGale? I would destroy him.”

I have no doubt that Chudinov would beat the likes of DeGale, because he doesn’t have great stamina and he can definitely be out-worked, as we saw in his last fight against Andre Dirrell.

DeGale was getting outworked by Dirrell through much of the fight. The only reason DeGale won the fight was because of two 2nd round knockdowns that he scored. Take away the knockdowns, and you have Dirrell winning the fight by a fairly wide score.
