What happened last night with undefeated challenger Krzysztof Glowacki (25-0, 16 KOs) stopping WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (38-3-1, 26 KOs) in the 11th round at the Prudential Center, in Newark, New Jersey was great even for the eyes of the boxing purists; and to deny the beauty of that fight means that the viewer must reconsider to watch another contact sport.

The fight was close and competitive and most important it was entertaining to watch. I´ll be honest because I knew very little about southpaw Glowacki and I thought that Huck was going to finish him off with quite ease but I was totally wrong. The statistics are just cold numbers and can’t show the heart, hunger and killer instinct that a lion possess.

To these type of fighters a call Valhalla fighters, those feared brave mean sons of boxing who will risk it all to achieve their dreams and just as those ancient Viking Warriors believe that at the end Valhalla will come. For some it is as simple as to secure economical satisfaction to their family and to others it is to be immortalized into the hall of fame.
I don’t care to analyze if Huck allowed Glowacki to impose the tempo and distance and how he failed to use his jab because at the sixth round it was evident that the hungry contender was there to achieve his personal Valhalla.

Glowacki got up at the count of eight and still was hurt but proved his heart and hunger fighting off Huck of him who was simply unable to finish him off preparing his killing shot.
The bout continued at a great tempo for the cruiserweight division and the champion was a bit cautious while the challenger keep on trying until he knocked down Huck on the eleventh round, Marco got up clearly hurt and then Glowacki just as a hungry young lion smell the blood and went for the kill hammering Huck on the ropes until the referee stopped the bout.
Hades and Kokou must be pleased just as much as the fight fans who watched this bout and if the reader has not seen it then I strongly recommend you to search for it and enjoy.
This was no hugging or running but just slugging fight and I thank to both ring warriors for such pleasant exhibition.

To me this bout is a solid Upset and Knockout of the year nominee. But maybe the reader thinks it is also a fight of the year nominee. And perhaps we could agree that a rematch should be arranged.

And another thing that I liked about this bout is that it didn’t cost 100 notes.
Did the reader appreciate Glowacki´s heart, hunger and killer instinct?
