Macklin getting ready for “Lights out at the Plaza”

Former three time world title challenger Matthew Macklin has been speaking about his excitement at the professional boxing show “Lights out at the Plaza” which is being headlined by Macklin himself on 28th August in Marbella.

“I’m delighted to be headlining the first MGM Promotions show in Marbella, “he said. “This is where the gym is and this is where Daniel and I decided we were going to manage fighters and promote shows so it’s fitting that I’m headlining the first professional boxing show here.”

“Lights out at the Plaza sold out in 48 hours, there will be 8 fights with each one featuring an MGM fighter,” said Matthew “It’s a very busy weekend over here.” The night following the pro show will be the annual MGM White Collar event which raises money for local charity Aspandem.

For Macklin though, it is more than just another fight, this is the start of his next world title attempt. “From a personal and individual point of view this fight is the first of a three fight plan between now and Christmas,” he said “which will give me really good momentum and leave me sitting in a good position going into next year where I’ll be looking for another world title shot at either 160lbs (Middleweight) or 154lbs (Light-Middleweight).”
It is going to be a great night, not to be missed.

Local Favorite Mike Gavronski to Headline Battle at the Boat 102 this Saturday Night

Tacoma, Washington (August 13, 2015) Live from the Emerald Queen Casino this Saturday, August 15th at 7:00PM, Battle at the Boat 102 promises to deliver another huge night of world-class professional boxing action from inside the I-5 Showroom. Brought to you by Brian Halquist Productions, Battle at the Boat is the Pacific Northwest’s premier boxing showcase for up and coming stars from all along the West Coast and beyond.

On an absolute tear as of late, hometown hero Gavronski will be looking to make it 5 wins in a row when he steps between the ropes across from the veteran Hammond, of Worcester, Massachusetts by way of Ghana. Gavronski’s incredible power and natural showmanship make each of the Tacoma native’s bouts a must-see attraction.
