Keith Thurman vs. Robert Guerrero and Adrien Broner vs John Molina Jr headed for March 7th

broner9991By DA: According to Boxrec.com, WBA interim welterweight champion Keith Thurman will be facing former two division world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Also on the card will be former three division world champion Adrien “The Problem” Broner facing lightweight slugger John Molina Jr.

This is definitely one great card he’s putting up. Keith Thurman and Robert Guerrero will be an action packed fight and it’s not an easy fight for either guy at all.

As for Broner I think this is the wrong fight for him IMO. Broner hasn’t looked good at all since moving up to 147 looking terrible against Paulie Malignaggi and getting crushed by Marcos Maidana. At 140 against Carlos Molina whom his handlers chose instead of John Molina who was his original opponent for the May 3rd card last year. He got tagged too much and clowned around too much. Against Emmanuel Taylor, Broner won a close 12 round decision fight but then again had terrible work rate and got rocked many times as well.

I’m not sure 140 lbs is the right division for Broner either, but nonetheless he has heart and cojones for taking on John Molina Jr who has a pressure/slugging style of fighting which could give Broner problems. Stay tuned.

*** Note *** The fight card has yet to be officially confirmed as of yet so anything is possible. Let’s just hope that these fights actually happen. There are obviously better fights for all of them that could take place, but these are at least competitive on paper depending on how this plays out. Thurman likes to move a lot, as we saw in his last fight against Leonard Bundu, so this fight has the possibility of being a real stinker if Thurman chooses to run from Guerrero instead of mixing it up with him. Guerrero isn’t a big puncher so it’s possible Thurman will be a little more courageous for this fight than he was in his last one. Broner has got another beatable opponent in front of him that’s a sign that his adviser Al Haymon still isn’t willing to risk putting him in with someone good that could really test him like Lucas Matthysse or Danny Garcia.
