Fury: I will knock Christian Hammer clean out

fury55By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury (23-0, 17 KOs) isn’t content with just going out and looking to get a decision win in his next fight on February 28th against Christian Hammer (17-3, 10 KOs) at the O2 Arena in London, UK. The 6’9” Fury wants to score a knockout so that he can increase his popularity with the boxing fans worldwide if possible.

Fury’s management team have picked out the right guy for him to knockout, and now it’s just up to Fury to show that he can accomplish that task.

Fury could put himself in danger of being starched himself if he gets in the wheelhouse of the Romanian Hammer. If Fury had a steel chin then it wouldn’t matter, but he doesn’t. Just one nice right hand from Hammer could spell disaster for Fury and end his dreams of a title shot against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.

Right now, Fury is locked into that fight due to his recent win over Dereck Chisora, but that could all go away in a flash if Fury gets beaten by Hammer. That was Fury’s decision to take a stay busy fight against a guy with a little pop in his gloves, and this could come back and bite him on the backside.

“I will knock him clean out,” Fury said via the Dailystar.co.uk. “People have seen the best of me before and if they don’t think I can fight now, they will never think I can fight. 2015 is going to be the year I am going to become champion, hopefully.”

Hammer has punching power similar to Manuel Charr, and his hand speed is similar to him as well. Charr’s a decent puncher and he can definitely get you out of there if he can connect with his shots against a guy with poor opposition. Hammer can do the same thing.

All he needs is a guy with poor defensive skills and a weak chin and he’s got a chance. So in other words, Fury could be the perfect guy for Hammer if he can pressure him and get close enough to him to land his best punches. Fury is likely going to be cocky and not afraid to mix it up with him. All Hammer needs is to load up with everything he can and swing for Fury’s chin and he could get him out of there.

Fury should still win this fight, but you can’t count Hammer out because of Fury’s chin.
