Braehmer, 36, is really playing it safe by facing the 32-year-old Glazewski, because this is a guy who is little more than an over-matched fringe contender who has done zero to rate a world title shot. Glazewski has beaten by Hadillah Mohoumadi and a past his prime Roy Jones Jr in the last couple of years, and looked terrible in both fights.

You can kind of understand why Braehmer would play it safe in facing Glazewski rather than a dangerous opponent like Artur Beterbiev, because Braehmer is fighting on borrowed time.

It’s only a matter of time before he eventually is forced to face the likes of Beterbiev and there’s little chance that Braehmer will win that fight. As such, he can milk his title until then by facing the likes of Glazewski rather than guys that will potentially beat him and end his short reign as the World Boxing Association 175 pound champion.

The WBA has two champions at 175. The guy that many boxing fans feel is the legitimate champion is Sergey Kovalev, who recently defeated Bernard Hopkins to capture his IBF and WBA title.

‘’Glazewski is no different. He wants what I have, and I expect him to do everything he can to try and take it from me,” Braehmer said via Fightnews.com. “However, I’m well prepared. I know what I need to do and on Saturday night I will retain my title.”

You can make an argument that even if Braehmer wasn’t prepared for this Saturday’s fight, he’d still end up winning with ease. With Glazewski, we’re talking about a guy who was easily beaten by a shot Roy Jones Jr in 2012 and by Hadillah Mohoumadi last year. If Braehmer can’t beat this guy then it’s a sure sign that it’s time for him to hang up the gloves.
