Is David Lemieux a big threat at middleweight?

lemieux2By Sarkis Agh: David Lemieux (32-2-0) will be facing Gabriel Rosado (21-8-0) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn New York on December 6. This will be Lemieux’s first time fighting in the States.

Lemieux got the public attention in the States when he faced Fernando Guerrero (26-3-0) back in May 2014, on Showtime on the undercard of Stevenson-Fonfora. David destroyed Guerrero in the 3rd round with a KO. Guerrero was just a human punching bag for Lemieux.

Now for Lemieux vs Rosado will be airing on HBO. I like Rosado, he has a heart of a warrior. But honestly I see no chance for Rosado winning this fight. Lemieux has too much power in both hands and a very good head movement. I don’t see this fight going full distance. My prediction a TKO in 5 or 6 round by David. They put David against Rosado to get more public interest in the States and maybe for a big fight against the top middleweight in 2015.

So is David Lemieux a threat in the middleweight? Yes he is. He improved he’s stamina, which was he’s biggest problem. Back in he’s early professional career, he was knocking out he’s opponent in couple of rounds. The two losses for David came from experience fighters such as Marco Antonio Rubio and Joachim Alcine. They waited for him to get tired and they went for the kill. With these back to back losses David did a full 360 degrees on he’s career. He became a more mature fighter and by improving he’s stamina he could fight big names in the middleweight like GGG, Cotto, Quillin etc. People talk about GGG power, wait till he feels David power. GGG until now never faced a power puncher like David Lemieux. This kid has a very impressive power in both hands that could hurt any middleweight. I really hope in 2015 GGG and David will face each other. Boxing fans will love it and I see an upset going against GGG.
