Klitschko vs. Pulev open workout; Briggs banned

Wladimir Klitschko and Kubrat Pulev held their open workout at the Volkswagen center in Hamburg (Germany). About 200 guests of the car manufacturer showed up to watch both fighters showing off their boxing skills in preparation for their heavyweight championship fight this Saturday, November 15.

IBF, WBA, WBO, IBO and “Ring Magazine” Champion Wladimir Klitschko and his contender Kubrat Pulev will face off at the o2 World Hamburg, Germany. While Wladimir took the chance to do a complete workout his opponent Pulev did a short and simple warm-up.

“Hamburg means a lot to me because my career started here”. Klitschko let the audience and the 100 media representatives know.

British Eurosport will show the event 9 pm (CET), the American broadcaster HBO will show the fight in the US at 4:45 pm EST.

Press conference

About 70 national and international journalists joined the event.

Challenger Kubrat Pulev did not attend the press conference. Wladimir Klitschko and his manager Bernd Bönte believe that the reasons for these circumstances are coming from bad consultation by Pulev’s management.

Klitschko is looking forward to the challenge, he said: “I cannot wait for the fight to start. Kubrat Pulev has had good performances in the past and a long time to prepare himself for this fight.” He added: “Pulev is one of the best apart from the Champion.”

Klitschko coach Johnathon Banks said: „Wladimir Klitschko is the best heavyweight in the world. He is the hardest working and he will continue to proof that he is the best heavyweight in the world.”

Manager Bernd Bönte also pointed out Klitschko’s significance: “He is the longest lasting champion in history after Joe Louis.” He is also sure that there will be an exciting fight. “Pulev is unbeaten and has had a great amateur career.”

At the press conference Bönte announced that Klitschko Management Group has reached a long-term agreement with the leading boxing broadcast of the USA HBO. “A great cooperation”, Bönte said.
