James Kirkland’s team opted for Rosado over Canelo & Lara

kirkland53By Jesse James: American slugger James Kirkland was the front runner to being Saul “Canelo” Alvarez’s next opponent on December 6th. Kirkland was also being considered for Erislandy Lara who recently lost to Canelo Alvarez via split decision. Though Kirkland was definitely Canelo’s first choice, Kirkland’s team was reportedly not interested in Canelo or Lara.

Instead they opted for journeymen Gabriel Rosado who is a tough costumer and has had the bad end of decisions in his last few fights before Bryan Vera. Kirkland is an American favorite and has a very good trainer in Anne Wolf.

Though he rarely fights because of his bad management and it looks they have ruined another high career payday for the young American by not accepting a fight with Canelo or Lara. It’s not the first time Kirkland was gonna make a minimum of 1 million in a fight against Canelo in 2012 and Kirkland faked an injury to get out of the fight for his team to ask for more money.

Kirkland’s biggest win was against Alfredo Angulo who he beat half to death and its a fight I watch 3 times a day. James Kirkland’s worst defeated came at the hands of Nobuhiro Ishida who has no relative power and knocked him down 3 times for the KO victory. But some say Kirkland purposely took a dive against Ishida to get a big money fight.

I 100% believe that as well. Kirkland is an American warrior and he’s in a must-win situation against Rosado if he wants any more bigger fights. I don’t understand why he turned down Canelo again and did not fight Lara, but Kirkland should redeem himself with a KO victory of Gabriel Rosado. James Kirkland is one of America’s finest and most exciting fighters and he’ll show it against Gabriel Rosado.
