dirrell5634429By Scott Gilfoid: Super middleweight talent Andre Dirrell (21-1, 14 KO’s) will be fighting this Friday night against the always tough Vladine Biosse (15-4-2, 7 KO’s) in a scheduled 10 round bout at the Little Creek Casino Resort, in Shelton, Washington, USA.

The Dirrell vs. Biosse fight will be televised by ESPN’s Friday Night Fights, which will enable American boxing fans to see Dirrell fight.

You’ve got to give credit for Dirrell’s adviser Al Haymon to get him a fight so soon after Dirrell reignited with him after leading in 2012 for 50 Cent. Dirrell recently left 50 Cent after sitting idle for almost a year and a half. It’s unclear why Dirrell wasn’t kept busy, because a guy with his kind of talent should have been kept busy. It’s like having a Ferrari that you put in the garage and never drive. Dirrell could have been fighting for a world title by now if he had been kept in action for the past four years.

Dan Goosen said this about Dirrell, “Andre was an outstanding amateur and one of the top super middleweights in the world picked to be part of Showtime’s innovative Super Six Tournament. His win over former world champion Arthur Abraham and highly controversial loss to Carl Froch during the tournament opened a lot of eyes on his tremendous athletic abilities and talent.”

Goosen promotes WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward, and yes, Dirrell’s loss to Froch in the Super Six tournament was definitely a highly controversial defeat with many boxing fans feeling that Dirrell won the fight by a clear 12 round unanimous decision. The fight was held in Froch’s home city of Nottingham, UK. So basically Dirrell is still unbeaten with a record of 22-0, 14 KOs right now, because you can’t call the loss to Froch a loss in the real sense.

Dirrell said “I’m too excited on my return to the ring to make any predictions on the fight. I just want to hear the bell ring and get back to what I do best against a very tough Biosse.”

Biosse last fought earlier this month in losing to prospect Callum Smith by a 10 round unanimous decision by scores that were far wider than what you’d believe them to be given how well Biosse fought.

If Dirrell can start getting busy with his career and fighting frequently, he could get a title shot in the near future. Froch will probably be retiring soon or possibly getting beaten by Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Dirrell can go after his belts or WBC champion Sakio Bika or WBO champ Arthur Abraham, a fighter that Dirrell already beat.
