Nicholas Givhan vs. Federico Flores Jr. this Saturday, February 22nd in Grand Rapids, Michigan

GRAND RAPIDS, MI –Weigh-ins for the professional boxing event Wintertime Warfare will take place tomorrow at 6p.m. at The DeltaPlex. The public is welcome to experience the excitement of this important event. There is no charge to attend the weigh-ins.

“Sometimes drama occurs at the weigh-ins with boxers not making weight, coming into the bout in better shape than ever or heated exchanges between the boxers,” said Dennis Shimmell Jr., boxing trainer and mentor. “A pro boxing weigh-in can be entertaining for boxing fans and is a chance for fans and media members to talk to the boxers prior to Saturday’s big show, Wintertime Warfare at the DeltaPlex Arena.”

The six-round bout between Nicholas “King Beamen” Givhan and Federico Flores Jr. will be exciting for fans because both athletes reside in West Michigan. During the weigh-in a coin will be tossed to determine which athlete will receive the red corner and which will enter the ring last. The two fighters both desire the red corner because the three featured boxers Jordan Shimmell, Johnny Garcia and Purnell Gates, also from West Michigan, will be boxing out of the red corner.

There are eight total bouts. Two boxers will be making their professional debuts at Wintertime Warfare, Jose Andaluz from Milwaukee WI., and Jeffery Carpenter from Topeka, KS.

Bouts on the card are: Vincent Jennngs Jr vs Jose Andaluz, Thad Berkhousen vs Santos Martinez, Jeffery Carpenter vs Antonio Urista, Alex Rozman vs Ruben Esparza, Nick “King Beamen” Givhan vs Federico Flores Jr, Purnell Gates vs Ryan Davis, Johnny Garcia vs Angel Hernandez Jr, and Jordan Shimmell vs “Dangerous” Damon Reed.

Doors for the Wintertime Warfare pro boxing event open at 6 p.m. and the fights begin at 7 p.m. Advance general admission tickets are $25, floor seats are $35. VIP tables are also available.
