This Saturday night in San Antonio,Texas, we have the opportunity of seeing the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. – Brian Vera rematch, and the exciting support fight of Orlando Salido v Vasyl Lomachenko. The prospect of seeing Lomachenko possibly winning the WBO 126lb title in only his 2nd pro fight will catch most peoples attention the most and rightly so. For fight fans these cards also always throw up the chance to see the start of young fighters developing their craft in front of a larger than normal audience.

The chance to catch the paying and watching public’s eye with a performance that will push their careers on not lost on anyone stars of the future given the platform to build reputation and ranking mid card fighters who aspire to top their own main event in the future.

The undercard in Texas is well worth keeping your eyes out for with many unbeaten prospects looking to showcase their talents to a national audience & also on Top Rank’s website. The undercard has two fighters that I have been following for some time watching their development implementing lessons learned in the gym to executing them under the brights lights of the ring for every prospect every fight is it’s own boxing examination to pass.

Ivan Najera 12(8)-0-0 – a tough young lightweight always has been in exciting fights so far in his career is scheduled for a 8 round contest. Najera has a fan friendly style in that he looks to push the action a real busy fighter that likes to keep his opponents on the back foot.

Alex Saucedo 12(9)-0-0 fights Gilbert Venegas 12-12-4 in a 6 round contest. Saucedo is a fighter you may not of heard much about so far but you will do soon enough. The Oklahoma welterweight is worth taking the time to see you may just be seeing a real star of the future. He is just 19 years old heavy handed with either fist.He has started to show a ring maturity beyond his years. The way he sets his opponent up shows the lessons learned in the gym sparring are being executed in the ring, especially how he switches the point of attack body to head.

The card Saturday will throw up it’s own headlines but look beneath the main fights and the prospects on show. In Saucedo in particular you may well be seeing a fighter who you will be watching headlining his own big cards in the future anyway see for yourselves Saturday night. I doubt you will be disappointed.
