Mayweather vs. Khan fight is a tough one for Floyd

But let’s not under estimate the Boxing skills Amir “King” Khan. The only flaw everyone keeps mentioning is that his a sucker for a powerful left hook. But Mayweather in reality is an aging fighter at age 36.

No, Mayweather hasn’t showed signs of fading hand speed, reflexes, stamina, and definitely not foot work. But power? In his last stoppage win against Victor Ortiz in September of 2011, Mayweather Jr. won by a 4th round knockout against an inexperienced foe. It was a legal knock out, but the only reason he dropped Ortiz was because he caught him off guard. With that in mind, Mayweather Jr. doesn’t have the power for a one punch knock out anymore, and also he hasn’t got a stoppage win in a long time. It’s now been three years since Mayweather’s last knockout victory.

Even with a suspect chin, Khan has a very good chance to get the victory over Mayweather if he gets selected for Mayweather’s May 3rd fight. I really don’t think Khan has to worry too much about getting knocked out by Floyd in this fight. Khan always comes to fight and not once have I seen his will broken at any point in his career.

So let’s get this straight; So Mayweather will not dominate the championship rounds like he’s used to after breaking down his opposition. Khan has the right hand-speed, aggressiveness, power, footwork and movement to pull out the wi. This will be a great chess match fight, I haven’t seen a boring Khan fight, win or lose. To the casual boxing fan this might not be the most enticing fight. I’m sure they favor Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana instead. If the Mayweather vs. Khan fight doesn’t go through, I see it as Floyd ducking khan. Styles make fights, and Khan has the style to give Floyd a lot of problems.
