Francisco Santana vs. Joachim Alcine this Friday, December 6th

SANTA YNEZ, CA (December 2, 2013) – On Friday December 6, 2013 Gary Shaw Productions will present another addition of the boxing series titled “Central Coast Championship Night” at the Chumash Resort Casino in Santa Ynez, Calif.

In the 10-round main event, hometown hero Francisco Santana (17-3-1, 8 KOs) will put his “Central Coast Championship” on the line against Joachim Alcine (33-4-1, 19 KOs). Santana, who is currently riding a 5-fight winning streak, feels confident he’ll prevail in front of his hometown fans.

“Alcine has a lot of experience and I’m not looking past him,” said Santana. “I know he’s coming to fight but I won’t be denied. I’ve worked really hard during the past year and I believe I will come out on top come December 6th. I want to thank Gary Shaw for keeping me busy and the Chumash Casino for hosting my fights. The Chumash is my house and I’m going to give my hometown fans an exciting night of boxing,”

The co-main event will showcase Rustam Nugaev (25-6-1, 15 KOs) and Ira Terry (26-11, 16 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight bout. Nugaev who’s rated No. 6 by the WBC will look to extend on his 4-fight knockout streak, three of which came in 2013.

“Every time I step into the ring I’m looking to knockout my opponent,” Nugaev said. “Against Terry it will be no different. I want to end 2013 with a bang and knocking out Terry will complete my mission. I know Gary Shaw is working hard to get me in position to fight for a title. I feel I can beat anyone in my division.”

“The Chumash Casio is a great venue and their fans are always enthusiastic about the fights we bring to them,” said Gary Shaw. “This show will again be very crowd pleasing.”

WBO Announces Referees And Judges For This Week

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- World Boxing Organization (WBO), by president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, announced today the referees and judges who will work this week in the world title defenses of champions Tomoki “Mexicanito” Kameda and Guillermo “El Chacal” Rigondeaux, to be held in Japan and United States, respectively.

Tomorrow at the Bodymaker Coliseum in Osaka, Japan, the WBO bantamweight champion Tomoki Kameda (28-0, 18 KOs), the first Japanese to become WBO champion, will make his first title defense when he faces #6 ranked Immanuel Naidjala (17-0-1, 11 KOs), from Namibia. For this bout the referee will be Robert Byrd, from United States.

The judges for the Kameda-Naidjala clash will be Adalaide Byrd, Don Trella and Carlos Ortiz Jr., all three from United States. The WBO supervisor for this fight will be Leon Panoncillo.

Meanwhile, this Saturday, December 7, at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the WBO super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (12-0, 8 KOs) will defend his belt for the first time against the #11 ranked and former world champion Joseph Agbeko (29-4, 22 KOs), from Ghana. For this fight when Rigondeaux also will defend his 122 pounds WBA title, the referee will be Benjy Esteves, from United States.

While the judges for the bout between Rigondeaux and Agbeko are Rose Vargus, Ron McNair y Henry Grant, all three from United States. The WBO supervisor for this bout will be Jose Izquierdo.

Al BERNSTEIN LAUNCHES BOXING HANGOUTS

Hall of Fame boxing announcer Al Bernstein will begin a series of Boxing Hangouts on Google Plus at http://tinyurl.com/BoxingHangouts1 with a live hangout at 7 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Dec. 3. It will also be live on You Tube at http://tinyurl.com/BoxingHangoutsonYouTube . In addition, Al will do a Hangout on Saturday, December 7, 30 minutes after the end of the SHOWTIME telecast of the Zab Judah vs. Paulie Malignaggi bout. He will answer fans questions about the big night of boxing.

The December 3 hangout will preview the weekend boxing cards and will feature Yahoo sportswriter Kevin Iole as a special guest. “I have enjoyed participating in various forms of the social media and now these boxing hangouts give me a chance to provide programming for and interact with boxing fans around the globe,” Bernstein said. He added, “I can share my conversations with top boxing guests with a wide audience, offer my comments on boxing events and news stories and get reactions from boxing fans. This is an exciting project.”

Social media expert and combat sports blogger Dan Parks is the producer of the hangouts and Bernstein said, “Dan’s expertise and hard work have opened the doors to this emerging platform in social media for me and he is a central figure in bringing boxing fans this content. This is the beginning of a fun journey.”

WBO JR. MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION DEMETRIUS “BOO BOO” ANDRADE TO BE HONORED BY STATE OF RHODE ISLAND THIS WEDNESDAY

PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (December 2, 2013)-

This Wednesday, WBO Jr. Middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade will be honored by his home state for his sensational championship victory over Vanes Martirosyan on November 9th in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Andrade, 20-0 will be receiving his recognition at the Rhode Island

State House at 4:30 pm eastern.
