In the opening segment of the program, The Pugilist KOrner team welcomes expert trainer and former Light Heavyweight contender John “Iceman” Scully to the program. The lifelong boxing proponent will be filling in for 2013 “Trainer of the Year” candidate Ronnie Shields, and will examine the best and worst of the boxing calendar year 2013.
At the half hour mark of the show, Joseph and JK will finally get the chance to give their take on last Saturday night‘s “Fight of the Year“ candidate between Marcos Maidana and Adrien Broner. The always outspoken Pugilist KOrner duo will also discuss the ensuing controversy regarding Alex Ariza’s actions in Maidana’s corner between rounds 11 and 12, as well as the foreseeable future concerning both competing fighters in 2014.
In the final segment of the evening, we’re honored to feature master strategist James Gogue on the two hour program. The three decade boxing mentor will give us his selections for this year’s “Gogue Awards”. The always insightful boxing coach will explain why he believes 2013 was the greatest year the sweet science has seen in thirty years, as well as how boxing can still improve for 2014.
