Nonito Donaire, Jr.: This win is for the victims in Samar And Leyte

By Alon Calinao Dy: After Nonito “The Filipino Flash Donaire, Jr. won the bout against Vic “The Raging Bull” Darchinyan yesterday, he expressed his deep sympathy for those people in Samar and Leyte who have been affected by the fourth strongest typhoon ever recorded in the world.

He said on his facebook, “It wasn’t my win tonight, it was the PHILIPPINES win. We are strong and we have faith. Thank you Lord for keeping me safe, giving me a sound mind, helping me see what needed to be done. Thank you to the Archangels and especially all the fans and Filipinos who watched despite the typhoon. I have alot of work still to do but first I need to get the cheek xrayed for fracture and rest. God Bless!”

He added, “dedicating my fight to uplift the Filipinos spirits. Our indomitable spirit has been recognized WORLDWIDE, even by CNN. Keep faith, HE will not abandon us in our time of need. Continued prayers for the Earthquake and Typhoon victims.”

In this hour, international support groups are going to Visayas to help the survivors in wake of super typhoon Haiyan. His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan from UAE donated $10 million to Philippines, and some countries like USA, Canada, Japan, UK, Qatar, KSA, Israel, etc. had also provided financial and humanitarian aids.

Even Filipino Dr. Charles Acosta, volunteered himself for medical mission in Tacloban and volunteer nurse Milton Dy from Phil health, will fly tomorrow via C130 to provide relief goods for the victims of super typhoon Haiyan. Ari Mabansag, a good samaritan, aired himself to seek support in the region of Eastern Samar, especially Guiuan, Giporlos and Hernani.
